Manager Mauricio Pochettino

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Is this based on any actual facts, or is it just shit you've come up with out of thin air after a disappointing defeat?
No it's based on interviews, my interpretations of what he has said, of what has happened during other windows and the fact that Levy has opened the vault for players like Sissoko and Sanches, maybe he isn't as cheap as many thinks. Mostly based on my grasp of the situation, could be dead wrong. I guess the missfires of N'iet, N'cando, Janssen, Llorente makes him a bit uncertain and even more picky.

No - beacause you used a joke from 5 weeks ago to suggest we won’t be signing anyone in Jan. Well - our circumstantces have changed so they interview from 20 December means nothing now
It's nice to have you as an ally.

Because using Poch's latest quotes as the indication on the state of the club is EXACTLY what I've been arguing with John about all year.

Not quotes from the summer. Not quotes from last year. His most recent ones.

We now have new quotes and I'll adjust my thoughts accordingly. Like a normal person.

Cheers for being on my side.

Just read Winks said they did not practice penalties. both the 2 teams I support have a bad penalty record but Southgate got England practicing them and it paid off. With our usual penalty takers injured this was a must. Cannot believe a Coach that plans so well would be so negligent as to not practice penalties before such a big match.

I imagine we haven't had time. We have had an average of 3 days between games. 1 would be recovery then 2 on tactical/formation stuff.

It was a shame as it was Poch's only real chance of a trophy.

Credit to him and the players second half, especially Rose for finding Llorente's strength, but ultimately you can't set up like that defensively first half and lose two goals and expect to go through with no away goals or on pens away from home.

I am being hard here. I don't care about the injuries. 0-0 > 2-1. We didn't need four at the back, a diamond, and a few non-entities up front. It was like having a player or two less first half. Yes, we literally have three less players there, but then you develop a system to do what is needed for anti-football.

Why not five at the back or in midfield? These were reasonable suggestions to work on before the game. I love Poch but he is opposed to pragmatic tactics and switching it up for his players to make it easier in big games or finals. He expects the players to play for him, and in whatever system, but they need help from that system.

If we want trophies that is what is required. Yes, on another day, and yes if we had more players and so on. That is never going to happen. From Levy to the players is all a piece of the pie including ruthless tactical management.

Perhaps Sarri's speech came at the wrong time for us but I felt Chelsea had weaknesses and we gifted them unnecessary opportunities and goals. Sarri should equally be the trophyless manager who needs a striker.

Make what you will of our CL/EPL chances, but why the fuck is the FA Cup doomed as of this morning?

Re Sarri: He is/was, but media Kool Aid portrays otherwise... Trust YOUR taste-buds; that shit is rank.

From what I see there are loads and loads of people who mirror The Hoods opinions regarding the club not giving a shit about trophies, not wanting to spend, lacking ambition and being content with top 4, and how it would be a crime if this generation wins nothing....

Yet Hood is a gooner troll and constantly gets binned, because he feels it’s on Poch, and others feel it’s on Levy.

This place fucking baffles me.

It's a mess that I assume extends beyond TFC... The media have completely wrecked our fan-base's heads in recent seasons. The inconsistency of it all only mirrors the constant knee-jerk revisionism of the cunts like Durham who dish it all out it the media on a daily basis.

When's the last time that anyone who professes to find the club or it's performances "embarrassing", "disgraceful" or "unacceptable" etc. pro-actively did anything about it? It's all fucking hot air, mate.

"embarrassing", "disgraceful" or "unacceptable"

Just the fact that there are Spurs fans who have literally never had it better saying shit like this too....people that were too young to appreciate how shit the 90s were, talking like that about this era??

And then those who did experience it talking like that??

The true fans are the ones at the games every week singing for Dier, Sissoko and Winks, and chanting Yiddo at Trippier and Davies.
That’s what matters really. It’s warming to know that many of these internet cunts will never step foot in the new ground anyway

New to the forum, love poch but he is also accountable on the recruitment side. He runs the show and you can't tell me he hasn't sat down with levy numerous times and levy hasn't offered players. He's been too trusting in some players. If he wants to take the final step he has to build his second team around the quality of the last four years.

There are many who have disagreed for years on this, but it’s getting to the point where it’s undenible that Poch is the one being to picky here.

No one wants duds.....but he just wont sign anyone that he feels can’t improve us.
Problem is, when it comes to strikers, he’s judging Kane and not Llorente as the one who needs upgrading.

Thank god Morata turned us down, it would have been another Poch booboo in the market

What bothers me is rather that he plays blatantly unwanted players like GKN rather than developing more young players in to-the-bare-bones games like these.
