Very different to the story doing the rounds earlier, that he has rejected us because he wants to play for Liverpool

Thanks, thankfully my google translate skills are top notch -

Véronique Rabiot, mother and agent of Adrien #Rabiot, denies categorically refusing an offer from Tottenham or any other club. The Rabiot family, affected by two successive bereavements, is in the time of meditation and has not engaged any discussion on the future of the player.

Gylfi disagrees with you

Gylfi Sigurdsson chose Tottenham ahead of Liverpool because he sees exciting times in store at White Hart Lane

Also, London is one of the most desirable locations in the world.
Liverpool's a shithole.

The only reason a player would choose them over us now is if they see them showing more ambition while offering market rate wages.

We should be a far more attractive proposition

Nothing to do with this then?

Are we pretending that Liverpool aren’t one of the most famous and biggest clubs in the world now, and that all their players live in Toxteth but put up with it because of the wages.

Harry Kane is on the same as Salah by the way

In this day and age all most players want is money, and levy is a tight cunt so we are fucked

It's truly not any more complicated than this. All the stuff people used to talk about regarding players wanting Champions League football was nonsense.

That doesn't mean we SHOULD outbid everyone on wages, but if we did, we'd get whatever players we set our sights on. Our erstwhile "wage structure" sharply limited the pool of potential transfer targets.

A poor decade in the 90s and even our own fans don't recognise the glamour and pulling power a club like Tottenham Hotspur should hold.

To Dare Is To Do

Never has our famous motto been so abused as it is by our current ownership.

Have you really just used a 7 year old article to make a point about current day desirability?

It’s not about him reading TFC, it’s about the fact there is a perception out there, spun by a media with an agenda to belittle and undermine Tottenham at every opportunity.

They try to sell our players, and they try to move our manager, and paint us as a nothing club to be honest.
Years of this has rubbed off on our own fans.

So why wouldn’t Rabiot also fall for it?
Spurs are seen as a joke club by many outsiders, and people like you feel the same to be perfectly frank about it.
And the way we act, or rather don't act in the transfer market fuels this so called media objection even more.

If we act like a club standing still with no ambition the media will quite rightly pick up on it. And so will potential signings

That’s what I just said. Only I think the media are scum for how they treat us.

One second you call us a massive club, and the next you say the belitting and undermining from the media is justified

Gylfi is obviously the 1 in 10 that I was referring to ;)

Also, anyone who genuinely thinks we are as big a club as Liverpool really needs to take their tinted spectacles off. I say is as I see it, Liverpool & Manchester United are traditionally the two biggest teams in the Country & whilst we are an attractive proposition, we still have the likes of Chelsea & Woolwich to content with based on our geographical pull.

Baby steps and all of that but we are getting there
and wage structure

So you agree we we're more desirable than Liverpool 7 years ago but not so today.
Where have you got that idea from?

The compulsion is getting the better of you, John.

I just find it funny that the only evidence you can find to back up your point that Spurs are more desirable than Liverpool currently is a single example, 7 years ago.

I mean, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Got anything more recent?
