Match Tottenham Hotspur v Ajax, Champions League Semi-Final, Tue 30th April

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Im sorry if I offended you or somebody else it certainly wasnt what I meant. It isnt because I wouldnt have wanted that i havnt been to a game at the Lane before, but being first a student and then a father of three small children, there have been other things I have had to use my hard earned money on. The cost of one game for me with flights, hotel and tickets is substantial. Then there is the fact that I will have to make the trip alone as none of my mates support Spurs.

Fuck em mate. What a great match to be your first. I've been going since 1983, and the City CL match was the best atmosphere I've experienced ... this should be just as good. Enjoy it.

Have a fantastic time.
I’m sure nobody seriously begrudges you this opportunity. You threw your hat in and got lucky with a ticket. Fair play I say.
However, if your plans change mate, I can take your ticket off your hands so don’t worry
:ossie:

I don't resent any individual getting a ticket to the game, even if it is their first. Fair play..

But I do resent the Club and how they have dealt with it. What fucks me off is that since 1978 having been to hundreds of games and spent literally thousands and thousands of pounds following Spurs, that I didn't get a little head start on the purchase of a ticket to a very unique game.

My last words on the subject as I am at risk of repeating myself..

Liverpool are still fighting for the EPL ... they will have no 'easy' games where they don't have to at least start with a front line XI ... Barca on the other hand need just one win from four games ( have they ever lost 4 league games in a row) and can rest the entire starting XI if they want ...

It's a big advantage for Barca ... but somehow I still fancy the Dippers to sneak through ....

If they were doing this ahead of facing Liverpool the stages of outrage...

UEFA is going to have to step in at some point, I'm not going to moan about it but it is arguably a competitive advantage that effects the CL. Imagine if the English FA cleared the fixture schedule ahead of a big international Euro/WC qualifier to give the English team more time to come together and prepare.

The big difference here is that the Dutch FA didn't anticipate any clubs even reaching this far in the CL in the first place, so they initially didn't schedule around it. There was no alternative. If Ajax would have had the opportunity to play on saturday this weekend like Spurs are then they wouldn't have postponed the game, but they couldn't due to a national holiday Kingsday on saturday, and not on friday either due to Kingsnight. Ajax were instead at first scheduled to play on sunday 2 days before the game in London.
