Match We can be heroes champions league final 01/06/2019

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Again, who has said he needs to put in a Ronald performance every match?. Fuck sake.. for me the only decent game he had all season was the game you have shown. If we want to move forward should we accept that a player should play because he has the odd decent game or was good in the past??. What we should do is give him the chance to prove himself like he has done in the past and that’s what we are doing..

Why do people have to go to extremes because they don’t want to accept the truth? No one has said dump him, no one has said he’s not good. All people are saying is he needs to up his game next season.
And the Ajax game assists?
The guy has too much talent to be dismissed in such a casual and lazy manner. He does great stuff in games and still he gets slated, I despair of some posters for their blinkered and agenda driven opinions.

as team we have not played well for a long time ( 3months or so) and yet we are top 4 & C/L finalist, with just a bit better play we could have closer to the top 2 and be C/L winners
I thought the Leicester season was a disappointment, but this just seems worst

So in a whole season you can pick one game where he was good and another where he made an assist.. that kind of backs up my point.. he was awful last season but more than deserves another season to get back to his best..
Personally I think we are a club that deserves players who are going to have more than a couple of decent games per season. The point was made that certain players won’t be dropped no matter what and that’s what I’d like to see more than buying in players with fancy names.

Nah its not worse mate.

No home ground.
2 windows of no signings.
Injury toll.

Its gut wrenching but its reality.

I agree we have been off the pace for some time, but that didn't hold us back from reaching the CL final.

It seems worst because we had the best opportunity for a big trophy and didn't take it. We lost to a very good liverpoo team, but they aren't a great team, they don't have a Messi or a Ronaldo, they have whitened teeth.

No I just went back two games to find more examples
If you don't see it, then I don't think I can help you to, I'm not a stats freak.
All we will achieve by selling him is making someone else's team much stronger, at the expense of ours
I agree to an extent about dropping players, but I suspect that Poch likes to see his players play their way out of a slump, rather than cool their heels on the bench.

Man I feel crappy this morning. Worse than last night in fact as I was too annoyed/disappointed in our lacklustre display.
Such a missed opportunity as Liv were crap.

Unfortunate penalty to concede but Sissoko should not have had his hands in the position they were. Players know the rules. Then a half full of nearly nothing. Misplaced passes by both sides, full of hesitancy and fear.

Second half we played better (worse would have been some feat) and in truth had the opportunity to have created much better than we did and when we did get close Allison was solid.

And that's it. No blame on Lloris, Vertonghen, Sissoko, penalty apart or Winks. Rose and Triplier didn't and don't do what Pochettino needs in his preferred system. No blame on either but they ain't good enough simple.

But for me our so called star quartet, one of whom should not have started fell short. You look to then and if you need big performances we saw nothing, maybe other than Son in the 2nd half and it wasn't a big performance.

Players are a funny breed. They will bemoan ambition of a club and yet can be part of its failure. As for Pochettino he will have to live with making a decision on Kane that I won't say backfired but one in which I would say it didn't pay off.

A painfully slow build-up to the game was followed by our painfully slow build-up during that first. All we did in the 2nd half was show we have pride and can play. We did not make a Liverpool side, beset with their own fears fret or force them into making mistakes and we never looked like grabbing something out of the blue.

It all rests on fine margins but Liverpool, whilst far from brilliant were strong and resolute. We weren't and sadly nor were we capable enough on the night.

Where next will be the question for the summer?
Where were we weak?
The penalty was a joke and their second was part and parcel of the game being wrecked as a spectacle by a shit refereeing decision.

Just watched it again at home, i thought we did ok, but my god we should of capitalised on a very poor Liverpool performance.

Poch’s biggest mistake was taking off winks. Easily our best player.

Such a shame we couldn’t get a goal, to put some pressure on them.

Honestly doesn't feel real to me; I could still be drunk or just having the absolute bastard of all hangovers but not sure I can ever remember feeling this way about Spurs.

Part of me is so proud of the team and manager for making it to the final against all the odds, after being written off so many times - the other part of me, I guess the pessimist, is wondering if we're ever going to get a better chance of winning this competition than that.

It feels like the final nail in the coffin for this stage of the 'project' too - looks as though some big changes could be happening to the squad over the summer; let's hope we can kick on and get us some silverware next season.

We just had one of those games that we have occasionally...where we do absolutely fuck all going forward. Our crossing is never on point, our through balls just aren't good enough...our full-backs are just too patchy and Eriksen too inconsistent, if all three are having an off game we just aren't going to cut it, throw in Son, Dele and Kane and we have a shitshow like last night. We need at least four of these guys to be clicking to get our shit together and none of them were on it last night...
