Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He changed the game when he came on for the Netherlands against Portugal. If we let him go to Everton somebody needs sacking.
Much as I'd like Van De Beek and have wanted him since January, I don't think he's an option. If the boss really wants Lo Celso and Ndombele and Eriksen stays, then I think Chucky Lozano would be a much better option than VDB. If there is another twist in the Eriksen-go-round well then of course VDB should be signed. But the pursuit of Lo Celso suggests Donny is an alternative signing rather than a priority.

My son just gave the analogy of Levy continuing to use a Poundland approach for M&S quality.

It really has to fcuking change.

So sick of us not being able to get our transfer work done and dusted in a fashiom that suggests some mutual clarity between chairman amd manager.

The way people have been talking about him £66.6m doesn't sound an absurd amount to pay.

Well, the BBC reported we'd made a bid of £53m earlier this year. If that's true, that's not too far away.

Mind, it seems Juventus have entered the pot too.

Hahahahah, ignore that lol! Too early in the morning pffft!

I think everyone needs to realise how complicated and intricate a transfer is. So much goes on behind the scenes that we’re not privy to...........

Mendy to Real sold ... done deal

Awkward

TBF we do not know how long Aulas and Perez have been negotiating that one. Real apparently started negotiations with Frankfurt over Jovic in April for example.

And Hazard to Real has literally taken close to a year.

Woolwich are shih tzu
I remember going to a zoo once. When I got there would you believe they only had one animal in the whole place. And it was a dog! It was a Shih Tzu.

Real Madrid has shown interest for a year, but knew they couldn’t get him last season. So they have waited patiently as they did Jovic and have acquired their targets. Big clubs don’t fuck around like Spurs. When they want someone, they go all out to get them and 9 times out of 10, they get that player. We dither and fuck around all window making silly 35 mil bids for a player that is worth 60, then wonder why the clubs get pissed off and refuse to deal with us. Transfers are never cut and dry with Spurs.

I seriously doubt that Real Madrid just rolls up with a wheelbarrow full of money and pays the asking price, and I seriously doubt that Aulas just accepted their opening bid. That doesn't match either his or Perez's usual MO.

There's always negotiations, if a club is just accepting the first best bid for a player that is usually a warning sign.

Some clubs are probably faster at negotiating than us. But Levy and Aulas was always going to be a drawn out negotiation process, from both ends.

I don't understand, we got to the champions league final we earned over 100 million, we still have last seasons 'warchest', yet we still do the same old penny pinching stuff..

I assume it’s so we can hit more targets with more money in the pot like Lo Celso, Sessegnon, AWB and maybe an attacker. But yeh it’s a risky strategy, we could easily piss off the club or even player haggling too long.

Lozano is a winger whereas VDB is a midfielder...

Not only that but he risks pissing off Poch and our own players, Poch has made it perfectly clear, he's tired of this shit.
