Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

the stadium hire business does not make up for drop of revenue from bad performance: I don't know how much it would be to hire the pitch for sports and concerts, but from the looks of it the PHEX event was in the South Stand for something like £10k per day.
Assuming £5m-£10m in stadium income, compared to the risk of dropping 4 places by neglecting the squad:

£9m less in PL prize money.
Tens of millions less from not being in CL.
Probably lower performance payments from the sponsors.
Lower returns from the corporate box holders.

I agree with you but what if Levy believes we can still finish top 4 without spending?

The kind of players we go for aren't hidden gems. We aren't that team anymore.

Which is exactly why we need to be more aggressive in the market, that's my point mate. We don't stand a chance if other teams get involved because Levy will never match the wages or transfer fee.

We need to go in with lucrative offers from the start and really win the player and agents over, if we aren't going to compete on a monetary level then we need to be clever, like Poch has alluded to, he has also alluded to getting business done early.

Levy thinks we can take it down to the wire and win, which we simply can't, unless other clubs suddenly become disinterested and when we are talking about the quality of player we are talking about that simply isn't going to happen.
