But their"agents"are not on holiday and that's where all the argy bargy happens.

I'm sure talks will be ongoing but I doubt any actual movement of worth will occur until after the players have cleared their heads.

Signing for Tottenham isn't the same as signing for Real Madrid. Hazard knew he wanted them, they didn't have any rivals competing with them or dangling a carrot. Madrid are at the top of the food chain whereas we fall into a category that doesn't have as much cut and dry appeal.

It'll be a big move for anyone we are after, the only player I think would be happy to sign regardless of what's going on around him at the moment with tournament action would be Sessegnon. Lo Celso & Ndombele I think we need to wait.

How about Eriksen in a straight swap for both Semedo and Malcom?

Less than 1% chance of it actually happening but given the difficulty in actually getting players swapping him with players who would compliment our squad might be more useful than the money!

Unhappily you're right about the food chain. Not having the resources of Real or City makes it that much more difficult. And it's one of the main reasons I think Levy needs to be quicker. The "big" teams can gazump us at their leisure. Worrying!

Possibly but what does Levy do if Ndombele for example says he wants to wait as his agent has heard that he is Real Madrid o Juventus' 2nd choice. It's trickier for us these days as we are competing with the very top level teams and having half a chance, as opposed to having no chance and needing to go for lesser players. It's made all the more awkward with our debt levels, it's a very interesting time to see how Levy and Pochettino navigate their ways around it all.

Atletico had a clause to buy out Southamptons option, PSG did not for Lo Celso.

How do we know that? I'm not trying to be a dick here, it's more the fact that both NDombele and Lo Celso, if we wanted them soo badly, we would have signed them. They were both available to sign.

There were no signs of us being interested in either.

It was reported at the time (google) and I provided a link of it being discussed in a book.

Once Lo Celso was on loan there was no way we could gazump them - it is not standard for the selling club to have a clause similar to Atletico so unless its reported the most likely situation is there was no clause. Obviously no one knows but its safe to say if there was one PSG would have used it.

I am talking about when Lo Celso signed permanent in *April - not when he went on loan.

I think you're probably right on this, but just to say Betis triggered the option to buy in April, not June

If no-one showed any interest in signing him, psg will of course have moved him on. If a club other than betis showed any sign of interest, he would have gone to the highest bidder.

There's no way the selling club would rid their hands of an asset at a lower price than would be available.

The fact that no-one else bid for him, he failed at psg and he signed for betis should send alarm bells.

Then again, mo salah and kevin de bruyne did something similar, there's still hope for the lad to turn out fine.

Isn't it telling though, that no-one else was interested in him in April though?

NDombele is the same. We could have signed him last summer.
