I'd be happy with top 4 & I think levy would be too. But little signs indicate poch wouldn't. But hopefully he is happy with top 4.

Poch needs to get real. I love the guy but I think he's just a little too keen to take us to the next level whilst not acknowledging we haven't the muscle to do so just yet. Realistically with our debt levels and size we will only have an outside chance of winning a league consisting of the strength of Man City & Liverpool and others in and around us with their frivolous spending. That won't be forever but we need to be patient until we get there. Poch definitely needs and deserves money this summer but we can't go mental with spending over the odds unless we really fall in love with a player. Fuck me I wish we had got De Jong, he for me is the kind worth pushing the boat out for.

Fuck me that's depressing wish we would sign top 4 quality rather than championship maybes.

What's next give rising star Micah Richards a go?

- No Sessengon for you either this summer?
- Presumably you weren't amongst those giving us shit for not bagging Grielish last summer?
- I assume MK Dons are an exception to your 'no players from other leagues' rule?

He keeps on saying winning is impossible etc. He has definitely recognised the imbalance.

I do agree. But I guess from poch's point of view he might ask himself "why wait around for years on the off chance 1 day we can compete with the big boys?"
I think he will be happy to stay for at least 1 or 2 more seasons as we got a good thing going on & he does love the club. It may come down to timing & oppurtinity. Don't see who he would leave us for at the moment. Depends what new big jobs come along in the next few years. It will have to be a very good one for him to leave us though. But we should do all we can to keep him (within reason).

He shouldn't say winning is impossible as that simply isn't true. We are big outsiders but to say it's impossible sells the team short.

Give the man £100m + any coin made from player sales and see what he can do with it. That should keep him sweet and happy enough to take us up another notch even if it is just a little one.

Makes me laugh when people think £70m is a lot for a player in modern football, Liverpool spent £67m on a goalkeeper, United have just bid £55m for Bissaka.

£70m is nothing in modern football, especially for a club looking to win trophies but I am sure that won't stop people thinking we will "do a leeds" if we spend anymore than £40m on a player.

Laughable really, you have some of our supporters wanting us to win the league or the CL but the second you mention that will require us changing our approach to transfers and spending more money they start getting offended (even though our manager has said the exact same thing.)

£70m is a lot of money for a footballer. Man City for example, literally one of the richest teams on the planet haven't even spent £70m on a footballer yet:

You should stop "assuming" too much it's gonna make you dizzy.

I never stated we shouldn't sign championship players nor did I wish that we should sign Grealish either.
If we really mush sign from the lower divisions it should be with full confirmation that we are signing a real young talent Clark looks nowhere near as promising as young Dele did.

Nevertheless we are now in a better position to attract quality from the top clubs so we should use that leverage not diminish ourselves to lower tier maybes.

Is there a possibility that we might be looking at jack Clarke for a right wingback position? That’s the only way I would get excited about it.

I think if he were to come in that he'd be coming in as a mouldable option very much like Sessegnon.

We've seen a few winters over the years develop into fullbacks. Ashley Young, Valencia, Danny Rose etc. Even Wan-Bissaka was a winger for Crystal Palace before he stepped up o the first team. Not he boasts the best defensive stats of a full back in the league so it definitely can be done for sure.

I hope Clarke and Sessegnon join and both have a year or two to train with the first team and for Poch to see how they get on using their assets out wide.

Exactly this. People need to stop believing these silly fees is the norm. Liverpool only spent silly money on VVD and Allison because they got silly money for Coutinho. Net spend about 20m. Good business. Barca only spent on Coutinho cause they got 200m from PSG for Neymar. PSG spent that much cause of Neymar's unique marketable qualities..... on so forth.

So, whilst I think about it....how will our (potential) signings fare vs out team say....2 years ago

Dembele vs N'Dombele
Eriksen vs Fernandes
Dier vs Lo Celsco
Rose vs Ryan Sessingon
