Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Notice from A&C over on Spurs Community.

Recently and more and more often, we're having to deal with people leaving multiple spam ratings in either a tit-for-tat ratings war or just plain vindictive and childish leaving of multiple spam ratings.

The mods have all got better things to do than deal with these petty games, it's tiresome, needless and it's getting out of hand now.

From now on, anyone indulging themselves in this childish behaviour will find themselves banned from SC until at least the transfer window has closed, if not permanently.

Giving supposed ITK a spam rating is why I've been booted off there 3 or 4 times! 😂

Surely they need to wait until the end of the transfer window before they can assess whether someone was giving a spam rating to an ITK post

he reportedly walked into training one day. Pointed at Nicky Barnby asking "Who's that?", he then said well Middlesborough have offered £6.75m so i'm selling him. Broke up a great partnership with Teddy.

some are lucky to have not been around in these dark days... we've come a long way boys.
True story (100%) - the double winning team were allowed one free ticket a year and had to pay for any extras. Their partners were not allowed in the director boxes or players lounge but had to sit with the plebs.

I don't know if this was all but 100% the one I talked to, first thing Levy did was try to bring them into the fold.

:dembelelol::dembelelol:

I swear these ITKunts wouldn't survive here for an hour.

Not sure how much truth there is to this but it basically says that Poch has telephoned Lo Celso to explain that £40m is all we can offer right now, until we sell players, possibly Eriksen.

Poch apparently also said to Celso that Spurs ‘don’t have much money to go to market’ but that will change if Eriksen gets sold.

Probably just bullshit but thought I would share anyway.
Very interesting article, great post!

Doing it the right way is pure bullshit and moral circle-jerking by people who wank over xG stats. Levy's salary suggest we're a top tier club - so let's act accordingly. We've won fuck all for the last 5 years doing it the right way with our best squad in a generation. Even Wenger in his worst years won more, fucken Leicester, Liverpool, etc. There are still fans on here trying to spin that into positives which is nothing short of embarrassing. The same ones who believe we have a better team and Liverpool and Chavs
I understand your frustration but we do thing's differently at this club and many fan's have bought into the idea of doing it the right way because it makes people feel better when the club doesn't win shit.
Unfortunately these days the bigger your pockets the more likely although certainly no guarantees that you will win something, and like you stated when the top five took a year off Leicester went and won the title when in fairness that was an opportunity for us that wasn't taken again.
Same as the CL final Liverpool decided not to turn up and yet we decided not to take advantage of it and so yet again it's nearly this and nearly that nothing will change.

No one cares about how much money we spend, they back what the club decides we can afford its pretty damn evident that's the case and your are chosing to ignore this.

Its clear you want to spend £500M every transfer window and bankrupt us, I cant understand why someone would want to see us go bankrupt (see its very easy to misrepresent people if you decide to ignore what they say)

Ok so answer me this then, you want us to win trophies, correct? How do you propose that happens without us getting the targets our manager wants?

If all that matters is what Levy and ENIC decides we can afford and they decide we can't afford the managers targets then what? We just accept it? Stagnate? Never improve? Stay the same?

Is it not healthy to question our owners motivations? Is it not healthy to put pressure on the club in regards to signings?

Or do you just willingly accept anything they say and shrug your shoulders? "Meh, we have never had it so good!"

I am saying, some people are just willingly accepting of what the club claims we can and cannot spend in the market and care more about that than they do about us actually improving or giving the manager what he wants?

Two seperate points.

Better squad than Liverpool?

Yeh agree anyone who thinks that is delusional big time, they are very strong. We have a good squad but with clear issues that need to be addressed although injured somewhat makes things look worse.

Doing it the right way?

Not blank and white. The reason why people do have a point on this is that City and Chavs never earned their money, they just got some dodgy oil baron and thus anything they win mean little compared to other clubs as everyone just says they bought it nothing more.

However that doesn’t mean we can’t take note of other clubs. Yeh i get it people are tired of hearing about Liverpool (me too half my family supports them) but they saw their weaknesses the prior season and with their own money (not some crooks) they fixed most if not all their issues. Anyone who doesn’t see lessons in this is blind. We finished 4th and got to a CL final, we are in exactly the same position as them the prior season. We go out and fix the issues or we stagnate and go backwards. That is where the club is at.

I like our team - I think it could have won trophies, I think the manager and the chairman are working together to better the team to win trophies. I trust that they are going for the best players they can and still invest in infrastructure that will allow us to increase revenue and match others spending and wages in the long term (its wage spend that's the real metric not transfer spend).

If you look at this thread most are saying they want Ndombele, most are happy to discuss pros and cons of a player - some are just shouting at the moon to get the deal done whatever the cost over and over and causing the conversation to go on a tangent.

The stewardship of the club has been good, I am confident that their aims are in line with mine and they are doing all they can to grow and win trophies.

Do you think this team has been good enough to win things in the past 3 years - I do.

Whatever happened to "i will strive to be more patient"?

Wasn't it his Mrs who was homesick? I remember his Dad telling him not to leave Spurs in a newspaper article.
seems so

The problem was, Barmby missed the North, and so, with the world seemingly at his feet, the newly-minted England international moved to newly-promoted Middlesbrough, not far from his hometown.

Homesickness wasn’t the only story, though. Whilst still a young player at Tottenham, Barmby met former Blind Date contestant Mandy Telford in a nightclub and two years later they were married in Hull. The players parents didn’t approve of the decision, however – Telford was seven years older than he was and already divorced from her first husband. The issue led to some kind of a feud between Barmby and his parents, who fell out and refused to speak to each other.
