Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

First post here... 'allo to all.

This thread has been an interesting read, I think there are some valid perspectives presented here

With all this talk of record signings, I cant help but think many here are underestimating the raw power of Levy's infamous sphincter muscle, and its omnipresent influence. In my opinion, without the sale of Eriksen, we will be very lucky if we see more than one major signing this window.

Levy and Aulas will sword fight over Ndombele till the bitter end.

Meanwhile, any chance of Lo Celso deal will hinge on the sale of Eriksen, and I cant help but feel that this will take so long that it will rule out any chance of this actually happening, especially with Man U allegedly sniffing the peripherals.

With all this considered, I think the best we can hope for over this window would be Ndombele, Sessegnon and Jack Clarke In.
If Eriksen goes in this scenario then its a piss-poor window

We should go for Orel Mangala. Best player in Belgium U21 and had a great season in Hamburg. He is a complete CM and probably 8 mill would get him here.

I also still want Berge and Tielemans.

Why don’t we buy Thiago Mendes and sell him to Lyon for £63m next summer?

Take that Aulas

100% agree. Unfortunately Eriksen seemed too be left out of the fray when Spurs started locking in contracts for Kane, Alli & Son. In my opinion he is more integral to this team and worth at least as much money as these other players. It will take some time for another player to step in and be as effective in Spurs style of play. Its been fukn frustrating to watch as a fan, so I can only imagine how disappointed Eriksen has been throughout this process, and I think this has had a massive effect on his performance last season.

If we do in fact lose Eriksen, and drop the ball on securing Lo Celso or other replacement due to tight fisted offers, we could end up without a true world class playmaker next season. No point having all this class up front if no one can get the frickn ball to them. Winks has been solid with his passing and distribution, but he doesn't possess the vision and creativity Eriksen displays.

Eriksen was by all accounts offered a new contract at the same time as Dele, Son and Harry were. With a base salary of 150k a week which would be equal to what Son and Dele are on. That contract is still on the table as well.

But according to most media it is Eriksen and his agent that are dawdling on signing it.

Rumblings of United now turning their interest towards Max Aarons after Palace knocked back their bids for AWB. Could be posturing to try and spook Crystal Palace, but would be a bit of a shame if true as I would have rather liked us to go for him (Aarons, that is).

Its only my opinion, but i think at the time these contracts were offered, Eriksen was worth more money than either Alli or Son. Son went on to have a massive season, and sure, justified his paycheck. Alli - not so much.
Based on Alli's performance last season, I would have to say he is currently overrated and overpaid.
