Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Have to agree here. I get the feeling that Kane is all about chasing records which is to his detriment. He is a goal machine for sure, but he’s fucking himself up regularly with 4-8 week absences when giving himself a week or 10 days here and there would probably see him smashing records all over the place within a few seasons - not burning himself out and aggravating injuries because he never gives himself chance to fully heal.
And I also get the impression that if Kane says he is ready to play, he plays. Which does worry me because whilst it’s his body, it’s our club.
Couldn’t agree more.

You have people on here constantly bemoaning depth and that Kane has to play......then when Kane goes off against City at 0-0, we go on to win 1-0, score 3 at the Etihad, score 3 at Ajax yet the final roles around and the same people say Kane “MUST PLAY”......

We just proved he didn’t need to in the previous 4 CL games.

The point is here, every club is trying to keep up with the Jones next door, since Chelsea, and later City broke from the norm they have tipped the scales, the minute a player is bought for X and paid Y that ripples through the leagues, it sets the bench mark, others have to follow and to do so they borrow.
Most clubs have amassed large debt one way or another these days.....tipping point incoming!!
I agree that clubs with unlimited funds skew the transfer market. The Glazer's only got away with it because of Utd's vast yearly turnover but even they will be affected in the end if they continue to miss out on Champions league qualification and their income drops substantially.
Lest not forget that we now have massive debt due to the new Stadium construction and these debts will have to be serviced.

No we don't.

You just proved that better than I could ever have done.

So Moura couldn’t rotate with Dele?
We’ve never won a game with Llorente or Son when Kane’s been injured?

Have you ever thought that the likes of Lamela have stagnated because as a human being, it’s not easy to get to your best when there will never be a reward of starting a game ahead of players who are playing worse than you?

Are you telling me Dele in CM is a better option than Skipp, Winks or Dier?

Are you saying we couldn’t play a front three of Dele, Eriksen and Son against the likes of Huddersfield....giving Kane a rest?
Or Kane, Moura and Son giving Dele and Eriksen a rest.

Or we could never afford to take Kane off and give Llorente or Janssen half an hour?

Are you telling me that a team that got to 4th and the CL final with over 50 separate injuries doesn’t have the depth to drop poor performers, for a few games a season?
Not even for the whole game, but simple rotation and rest that would benefit the players over 50 games?

Or are you saying that only Ndombele and Wan Bissaka will give us an option? Because from where I’m sitting, they won’t be providing one single ounce of cover for Kane or Dele or Eriksen.

Son and Lucas made almost 100 appearances between them last season, and if you think Lamela, Skipp(???) or Llorente were good enough to properly back up any of DESK last season then there really is no hope for you.

It doesn’t matter how many appearances they made. They were not rotated with the players that needed rotation.
Dele and Eriksen.

Maybe you missed the 1/4 and 1/2 finals of the CL where Llorente and Moura proved that Kane can be rested against the likes of Fulham from time to time.

You can laugh at Skipp all you want, I heard all the same shit about Winks for the last few years when I was telling cunts he’s better than Fabregas and Barkley......not so funny now is it

Exactly, it’s debt debt debt.

I am with you on a fair few things mate but on this you are off beam.

Llorente once, but never with us and Janssen were not good enough. Your other options and suppositions are just you trying to write enough words to cover up the inadequacy and weakness of your argument.

We either buy and then utilise 4 or 5 players of the necessary quality or we will end up turning up in a flash car on the outside but with mouldy seats that have seen better days and need to be fully upholstered.

Embarrassing really.

Anybody who glosses over it or thinks it is anything but indicative of a club completely stuck in ideas and willingness is kidding themselves.

A record of inactivity that is unlikely to be beaten.

Shame there is no trophy for it. Would end our wait for silverware.

The No Spend Cup.

We did Spend.

New deals and big pay increases to make sure the key men stay at the team - Kane, Dele, Son and Poch (+backroom staff). All given long term deals to ensure they are the backbone of the club. Eriksen and Toby were also offered very attractive deals.

Let's list those players that the forum keyboard warriors were furious that Levy didn't sign

Berahino, Benteke, Barkley, Zaha, Lovren, Moutinho, Schniderlin, Martial, Kovacic, Malcolm

So.....seems we dodged quite a few bullets!

You'd think but the truth is that income has grown so much debt percentage has actually gone down - the EPL now has a debt level of just 31% of revenue ... that's pretty good for any big business ...

ShalI I dig up the games played, games won and goals scored without Kane for the last four years?
Because that will make your statement that he can’t be dropped nothing short of a lie at best.

I agree we need about 5 players.
Dembele replacement is one, and that should be Ndombele....people seem to think he is Diers replacement and it’s simply not the case for me.

Jack Clark I like, but sadly he won’t play ahead of Dele or Eriksen...I would have liked Rabiot to come in and out a few of our players back in their box to be honest.

We will not sign a striker that will see Kane dropped, which is another travesty. Because as I keep pointing out, we have proven time and time again that he can be rotated. But the only time he’s out is when he’s injured.

He doesn’t even get bedded in anymore, just straight back in the second the crutches come off. So why would that change with better strikers?
Who the fuck wants to come here? We already saw that with Morata.

The window will be a joke unless Eriksen leaves, because it will be a simple case of “look it’s like a new signing”.......and all that will happen is that we give his God complex even more of a boost and get to watch him fannying around for another 55 matches

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

If you do not refresh a squad that has not even won anything you stagnate.

Keep making Enic's and Levy's excuses.

I am not suggesting for one moment that we can or should go mental but we are acting like tight paupers threatened with execution if we spend anything.

It is as pathetic as it is embarrassing and largely indefensible.

We won't go mental with the owners we have but we do need to give them a bit more time I would expect two in by pre season training

You see you are flitting in and out of coherence and proper reference.

I did not say Kane cannot be dropped did I?

We agree that we need 4 or 5 players. I say that should be a net 4 or 5 and I would be happy if Eriksen stayed if 2 or 3 of those who we acquired were quality midfielders who competed for the Dane's spot.

This summer defines the club. We shall see which direction is the most likely.

This is just incredible!

As I understand it, they are pledging a monthly cash amount on the premise that the club sign someone. It's marketing genius!

£6K a year to run Spurs Community?

You refuted that we had the players to rotate Kane, Dele and Eriksen and then said Llorente and Janssen weren’t good enough.

Llorente helped us knock out City and Ajax without Kane but couldn’t play the odd game against Southampton or Burnley from time to time?

Still not what I said though.

It's a moot point because your assertion is that players won't get in ahead of Kane, Alli and Eriksen.

I believe the players we had last season wete not good enough to force that and that any improvement to our overall level is dependent on that better quality.

Then we can revisit your assertion if those players are not played.

Nike recieve a fixed price per unit sold
the naming rights belong to the club/player which is another increase to the revenue streams
A standard Spurs home shirt wouldn't cost the same as a standard Spurs home shirt with a players name on the back of it.
Add a stellar signing in the mix like Mbappe and both club and player would receive a windfall through sales generated and yes I'm sure Nike would get a piece of the pie but small percentages on top of a standard unit sold.
