Happens every summer. When Fulham got promoted I remember a few people that were fearful that Fulham was a credible threat for top six!
That scenario would be ever present but there would be uproar from tax payers about the valuation were it sold at a knock down price, the fact that the park itself is booming would create an environment hard even for the dodgy Pornhub barons to convince anyone otherwise.
But the real rub of the green is so what!??!? It’s a genuine shithole. I have a house just on the other side of the A12, I can tell you it’s looking tiered already, it’s not far off a decade old let’s not forget but because it’s made with lego (it was specifically designed to come apart post games) it’s already decaying. The fancy parks immediately surrounding it (bar 1) haven’t been tendered to for about 2yrs. Honestly they are welcome to it, only total demolition and rebuild would make any sense and I really doesn’t fit the Pornhub boys MO.
I agree so fucking what if they buy it, they won't be able to low ball that much in the near future because the tax payer won't have it, what are they actually buying anyway? A failing multipurpose venue that isn't fit for anything.
They have a good deal they pay 2 million a year stadium that costs 7 or 8 million a year to run, if they wanted to buy it and rebuild it they would be looking at 100s of millions for a respectable football stadium.
On top of that, it costs the tax payer £6m a year to keep converting it from baseball, athletics, football..
The battle ground is the rent. As unbelievable a deal it is, there is always the old adage of you get what you pay for. The operator might just go smack and that will leave them locked out of the ground. The rent they negotiated will cause this to happen.

While I would like to laugh at the Spammers, the fact we have Man City next makes me somewhat worried to.
