This is so short sighted we need BOTH and we can have both. We stood still with this kind of signing and others like Lecister and Liverpool watched it handsomely pay off with Maddison and Robertson. I remember when a few scousers were moaning because Robertson was not starting games. Well now he's bossing them. By all means we must compete for the shop ready players but looking at say Eze at QPR he obviously has talent it's a no brainer get it done ditto Bowen.
If there are players in championship good enough to kick the likes of Dier, Winks and Sissoko out of the starting XI them I'm all for it, sign them.

I just want to elaborate on this a little. Soumare is definitely a 6/CM not a creative 8 type, and I have seen games where he's worked hard. But one reservation I have about him based on the few times I've watched him is that he's not always tenaciously dynamic (or busy) enough. He doesn't always voraciously hunt and bite like say a Kante or Ndidi do.
He is only 20 and having his first full season at this level. And maybe he needs better coaching and developing. But as I said, I really don't think he'd be in the 40-50m bracket.
One of the problems we have right now, is having watched people like Dier and Sissoko clunk around for much of the last two years in our midfield, any cunt who ca combine a bit of tackling, kicking a ball straight and not panicking every time they see it starts to look half sexy to us.

I don't think that means what you think it means. In terms of whether the player has talent. For example there are good players in poor sides; by dint of the side being poor your progressive passing may not reflect your ability. If you're constantly camped in your own half for example don't expect progressive stats to be great so being tenth may be more impressive than being third, under those circumstances
As they say about a boat, it seems that the two best days of owning Julian Draxler are the day you buy him and the day you sell him.
At 20M€, Draxler would be an absolute steal. Doubt that the rumour is true though...
