I’d go for him at that price.

He would get eaten up in the PL in general but as to us specifically it would be a bad match. He passes well but can't resist any pressure with the ball. And seeing as we don't really have a lot of movement nor willing players making themselves available this would be a bad match. Would work in a more technical/possession team possibly.

bus-conductor bus-conductor loves him but considering his recent come-to-jesus moment of players actually having some degree of athletic ability I'm not sure he still rates him. We'll have to see. His principles are kind of in flux at the moment. What say you BC?

Few players I've been keeping an eye on. All are realistic in terms of cost.

1. McNeil
2. Cantwell

Kelly (Bournemouth) - Seen him play for England U21, shades of Ledley about him.
Thomas Delaney
Mat Ryan
McNeil was great against us. Fantastic crosses.

Burnley chairman Mike Garlick has insisted that star winger Dwight McNeil will not be sold in the January transfer window.
The Clarets wideman has attracted plenty of attention over the last 12 months since breaking into the team last December.

Cantwell was good in the minutes against us.

We've approached RB for Dayot Upamecano with a cash offer, RB want to sell (40/50m???) but the player has 18 months on his contract and is happy to let that run down to the summer ... he wants CL football and neither us or Woolwich look good for that right now, Man City are sniffing but they want him as a project (willing to loan him back this season) and he doesn't want to be a 5th/6th choice.

If Mourinho can convince him that he will slot into Jan's spot next year this might work ... the lad is very good played top flight Bundesliga and CL and at 21 looks the part ... this would be a significant signing for the future but does Mourinho think long term?

Bus-conductor doesn't love him, but he likes him more than Dier and fucking Sissoko as a 6, that's for fucking sure.

Upamecano would be first choice at city, so I call bullshit on that.

I remember Tuchel pushing to get him at PSG. I'm not that up to date with my Bundesliga but I think it's safe to say Weigl didn't really meet the hype created around him?
He was great for Tuchel during their 2 seasons together. Tuchel got sacked, Weigl fractured his ankle and missed 5 months. He was decent that season albeit under the guy before Lucien Favre but you can tell he was a bit slower than before, he already wasn't the fastest guy on the pitch.

Under Favre, its hard to judge Weigl because he doesn't fit Favre's system. He played well as an 'insurance' CB last year and has been playing more (and better) in the DM position, likely due to Witsel and Delaney injuries.

His fit in the PL might be concerning to some but for 20m, why not....

Well, he was playing LB in that game so unless they were looking elsewhere or were under the influence of some hypnotic they were missing something. Wouldn't surprise me though because some folks see a blazing technical wizard that's gonna produce mazey runs and take on all comers with the ball at his feet and produce all them goals. Good thing Jose sees him as a LB though, no? That is unless I am misinterpreting his words "I see him as a LB". Perhaps you should advise.

And don't try an get me to go in on RS. He's got a lot of rope from me. If we give him as much time as some others I can make a judgement when he's 27.

And you know my complaints have always been about folks making him out to be what he is not solely based on the goals they read about. Did you see his critique of himself in the Norwich game? Loved it. Loved the mentality.
I think he’ll make a decent LB

City don't play many 20 year olds - Garcia, Angelino, and Foden hardly getting a kick even Jesus gets a limited playing time and he'd walk into most sides ... when you have older more experienced >50m players in every position it's hard to bring in youngsters ... and Pep doesn't take risks.

Not saying City wouldn't want him but looking at how high value juniors have done at City - Cancelo 65m can't get an EPL game - who would they drop for Upamecano? Laporte, Stones, Otamendi ... Pep just doesn't take those risks, but is Pep even staying?

Upamecano (20) would not be first choice at City - get a grip

I thought JM came out and said the exact opposite.

Makeshift LWB at times recently but yet to see him at LFB.
