Correct. Levy and/or Poch completely fucked up in the summer of 2018. And we are paying the price for it now. It is going to be a painful rebuild. Just like Poch told us over and over. We’re there. This is the painful rebuild.
Yet, we are still in contention for top 4 this season. It is a very realistic goal right now. 6 points back of a team that doesn’t look at all impressive. We’ve strengthened the squad, though not in the spot of our biggest need...we have strengthened the squad. Chelsea cannot day that they have strengthened their squad. We are better than them on paper. It’s just a matter of gaining confidence and comfort in what Jose wants to do tactically.
I’m not arguing against a striker or DM. I’d love one. But we don’t need to act desperate. Levy has clearly shown this season he’s willing to spend to improve the team. But he have to do it smartly. The team is good enough to for top 4 right now (most seasons I’d disagree but our competition is struggling this season as well).

I reckon they've chucked a juicy sell on clause into it for £16m. Funny isn't it, when everyone was chucking money around a year and a half ago and we didn't a lot of people said that prices will inevitably start to drop and we'll be the ones with it safeguarded. This kid was bei linked as a £30m player before if I remember correctly? His contract is getting triggered for extension for a year but £16m for him, £25m for Bergwijn I think we are seeing a simmering at a time when teams like Woolwich and West Ham need to penny pinch due to frivolous spending.

I think it's great that Sheffield United are doing so well. Proper club, proper venue, proper supporters. And playing good football as well.
