Deadline day swoop for Mertens would be nice. We've been linked previously right?
Still much better defensibly then Ndidi, based on an algorithm. But I'll trust that over your judgement.More like a central midfielder who can play as a DM as well, but he isn't a player in the mold of Ndidi (a specialist, which would add much more to our midfield right now)

Giroud is better than LlorenteGiroud would be underwhelming to say the least. Leaving out past rivalries, he's a worse Llorente. If we're doing that we might as well have got the slightly better Llorente (who happens to actually be called Llorente).
If we signed Messi you’d moan he’s too shortHe's having a fucking laugh.
Thats like me congratulating my builder for coming back and patching up the fucking mess he made of my extension

Fair play Sheffield United. Looking forward to seeing him in the PL
Sad that they get the progressive younger player while we get the old fella on loan. Was not that long ago that it would have been the other way around. Feels a little like an admission of where we are and that’s shit to have to accept. To be going for their 33 year old cast offs (and being happy about it) is hardly echos of glory stuff.
It may be a rarely held opinion, but I think the "damage" of the windows with no transfers is significantly exaggerated in general. If you look at our transfer business in the recent era (post-Bale), we're typically looking at 4-5 in and 4-5 out combined over the summer and winter windows. In general, at least 1, if not 2, of the outgoings are quality contributors we'd rather keep but can't. Of the 4-5 incomings, we're basically 50-50 on whether or not they make meaningful contributions. About 1 in 5 transfers we actually hit on something good and get a quality squad fixture from.Correct. Levy and/or Poch completely fucked up in the summer of 2018. And we are paying the price for it now. It is going to be a painful rebuild. Just like Poch told us over and over. We’re there. This is the painful rebuild.
Yet, we are still in contention for top 4 this season. It is a very realistic goal right now. 6 points back of a team that doesn’t look at all impressive. We’ve strengthened the squad, though not in the spot of our biggest need...we have strengthened the squad. Chelsea cannot day that they have strengthened their squad. We are better than them on paper. It’s just a matter of gaining confidence and comfort in what Jose wants to do tactically.
I’m not arguing against a striker or DM. I’d love one. But we don’t need to act desperate. Levy has clearly shown this season he’s willing to spend to improve the team. But he have to do it smartly. The team is good enough to for top 4 right now (most seasons I’d disagree but our competition is struggling this season as well).
What are you talking about?? This is when it gets good!
There are going to be some absolutely fucking cracking cunt-offs over the next 48 hours.
Is this the same club whose 'planning' has us in the position we are in right now? The same club whose planning provided us with a Sammy-summer? The same club that has allowed us to go without a suitable backup striker for 5 years and allowed our plan B to walk in this very past off-season? Not trying to rehash those things other than as backdrop to say why would continue to place your trust in said club to get it right? Seems less 'trust' and more 'blind faith' is needed in this situation considering the current problems we face were easily foreseen.Shame as I'd have liked Emre Can but I trust the club in how the are planning things moving ahead.
Isn´t that what supporting Spurs is all about? At least it has been for me for over 40 years!

Speaking of which how in the fuck did Vardy get back so fast? Wasn't he supposed to be hurt? Or am I mistaken? I imagine Mane will be back this weekend too from him 'pulled muscle'.Why not?
Utd and Chavs are just as 'shit' and btw, their main strikers are out injured too.
