You should know better.

You're right. I forgot that we have never defied the odds, we've never broken into the Top 4 despite the lack of the resources compared to those that were in it, and we've never performed beyond media/pundit/expert expectations...oh wait, we've done all those things in spades over the last 10 seasons. Maybe we don't get 4th this season, and maybe we don't deserve it, but good god man, don't throw in the towel with 3 months left. Even half the Woolwich fans haven't thrown in the towel yet.

54m on N'dombele
43m in Lo Celso
10m on Clarke
25m on Sessegnon

As reported by the evening standard those were our 4 targets going into the summer and we got all 4 of them. Surely Poch must have been ok with this and Levy delivered.

This Jan he has given Mourinho:
50m option on Fernandes
27m on Bergwijn.

I've posted previous about Levy/Enic and stated they need to be doing much more but on this occasion they have. It's not their fault we have performed so shite.

We've made some fantastic signings talent wise, 6 genuinely promising stars added for over £200m if Gedson turns permanent, it's a killer that we haven't got a striker in but talent wise we have done great things since the end of last season. As you said it's just a shame the integration of them comes when we've been all over the shop. Give this lot time, they have the potential.

Fortunately, what I do doesn't effect the football.

I don't understand the people claiming that a striker even the talent of Llorente last year wouldn't be worth points to us this season.

The guy doesn't need to be Harry Kane or even play half as much as Kane, but not having the option to change up how we play, to target late in games, to move the ball to the new pacy winger, is insane.

Jose, Giroud, Piatek... ANY of them would have been worth points in the table this season. It was still an OK window, but seems like a low cost in today's market (25M) option to see out the rest of the season and possibly deputize next year was necessary.

Everyone suffers Vit.D in winter. Sun helps your body produce it. Drink lots of whole milk and take a supplement. You'll be ok.
Lactose intolerant not one of those poncy wankers that drink fucking almond milk. Been like it since birth its very high in the afro- Caribbean community. Its fucked mate they treat between 30 and 50 and my last blood count was 12!! My body wont absorb it. So hardcore does of meds for ten weeks then every day til I die. Fucking Marvellous 🙄🙄🙄. Thanks though very thoughtful 👍👍

The issue wasn't keeping Llorente on, it was competing with the 2 year deal he was offered at Napoli. The bloke would have been 36 by the time next season is done that's kinda stealing a wage even if in hindsight it looks good at present.

Have seen it said quite a few times in this thread - we don't sign good strikers.
I kind of disagree - yes there have been duds but no more than any other position really..
How I see it;

Hit:
Llorente
Dempsey
Adebayor
Crouch
Pavlyuchenko
Keane
Defoe
Bent
Berbatov
Mido
Kanoute
Sheringham

Miss:
Janssen
Soldado
Saha
Campbell
Rasiak
Postiga

I think these are the strikers we have signed under Levy.
12 hits against 6 miss I make it.
Adebayor - too lazy, once he got a permanent deal.
Llorente - didn't play enough, not his fault, was always going to be back up

Difficult to sign strikers in January is the line now

And in the summer it will revert back to the "no one will be willing to come in and be second fiddle to Kane"
You can't see the lack of the Striker signing in the summer was clearly down to Poch not wanting one? What's Levy meant to do? Just buy one anyway over the managers head. We are in this predicament because the previous mananger decided to play Kane every single game and run him into the ground.

I have no agenda when i post so i evaluate the evidence and come up with a logical conclusion. Just because i slated Levy before doesn't mean i will do it when it's not warranted.

It's also a matter of being realistic about what types of moves are traditionally made in January, couple with reasonable expectations of how we operate.

The possibility of us landing a high-quality striker option, that Levy would go for during a January window was always slim.

just can’t defend it anymore mate. It’s been year on year of this bollocks, one excuse after another. Short arms and deep pockets our chairman.

I do think you're being very kind to a lot of hits there tbh.

Sheringham was top class, but that's far too long ago. Pav? Not for me thanks.

The only proper World Class striker we've had is the one better clubs than ours wanted and that was Berbatov for me.

Defoe was a great goalscorer, but not in the same bracket as Harry, Berbatov and Teddy IMO.

More misses than hits for me.

I see your point. Pav scored 42 in 113, cost 15m, sold for 8m - and had to do what he could with a bit part role in the side. I saw him as a backup striker most of the time we had him, and for me he did pretty well at that.

As for Sheringham being a long time ago - it's since Levy took over in 2001.

We don't sign many world class players in any position though. As in, they arrive as a world class player. It's more our thing to take a very good player and help them become world class - like Berbatov.

I actually think at the time we signed Defoe he was a 'better' striker than Berbatov. Certainly wouldn't call his contributions for us a 'miss' either.

No, where did you get that from?

Didn’t seem to be a problem for Woolwich to sign a player like Aubameyang in a January transfer window.

we are mugs, supporting the history of this club while it’s current guise is a fucking joke.

Bale not included in the Madrid team for tomorrow’s game

Great chance for him to do what’s best for him, his career and family...

Get out on the Madrid golf course, obviously.

No, where did you get that from?
Well besides it being the logical conclusion there is also some evidence supporting it.

Do you think the Evening standard just guessed those 4 random targets on the 31st of May 2019 without a little inside info?

Evening Standard, 31st May: 'Tottenham's summer transfer targets are Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Jack Clarke'
