Timmy Tactics. Fucking legend.

If Jose wanted Piatek, we would have signed him.
That’s the same thing I said under Poch...

People keep trying to create a fake scenario where Levy buys players the managers don’t want.
Jose gambled on not being stuck with a bit part striker when Kane’s fit.
He gambled on Son.

He lost
I don't believe that to be true.

Jose had publically said many times we need a striker whilst Poch had said many times he was happy with the squad.

Honestly we don't 100% know who was doing what when it came to recruitment in previous years... I mean when Poch said he was 100% happy with the squad I am certain that doesn't mean he would have declined Auoar and Sancho if Levy'd gone out and bought em.

But I guess he was also involved in rejecting players the recruitment team+Levy had made clear we could get in, because he didn't think they'd improve the team.

Either way recruitment is still a disaster after Poch's firing, so we can safely presume he at least wasn't the only issue.

He needs a new RB, a DM a LB, a CB, a back up striker and a first choice CM like Sissoko fit
Poch got us to a CL final and 4 successive top four finishes without investment though. Let alone a whole fucking new team.
Maybe it's time to finally wake up and admit it's not the manager that's the problem. Its Levy and Lewis.

We all make mistakes mate. I own mine. Time for you to own yours

Yeah, great motivational words for the team you pick to play. They must walk on the pitch feeling ten feet tall.
Come on, they aren't children and they aren't naive. He didn't say anything incorrect, that the players didn't already know and he is able to help deflect a poor performance.

I don't believe we lost purely for that reason, we played poorly, but it doesn't hurt for your coach to deflect from that.

Without investment?
So he had no Son, Dele, Wanyama, Llorente, Toby, Sissoko, Sanchez, Moura, Aurier, Trippier, Vorm, Dier, Davies or Foyth?

I could have sworn they helped.
Maybe I’m wrong and we did it all with Capoue and Lennon

While I agree, at this point it really doesn't matter. Jose needs to stop moping and figure it out.

Use Parrott. Have Dele as a false 9. Something besides how we setup today. Even RBL was better.

I might get some stick for repeating myself, but he should give Parrott some minutes. I don't see how it could be worse than playing Lucas up front.

He does need time but if you don’t go after a DM then you should be playing the one you have.
It’s costing us.

People have even stopped arguing against me on that now, it’s just at that stage where no one wants to admit Dier should have been given a run of games and integrated by now.

That’s all on Jose. We are exposed every game.....for the simple reason we don’t have defensive midfielder on the pitch.
Put five defenders on.....didn’t help did it
Dier (or Skipp) should be playing no doubt. Our MF has no balance without a DCM.

I’m more concerned about our approach to games. Trying to play defensively with a porous defence is suicide. We still have good attacking players that can cause problems but we’re not playing a style that can complement them.

No joke, if we are genuinely going to bypass the MF and play long ball, we’d be better off having Tango up top than Moura. We need to adapt our tactics. We can’t keep a clean sheet, we shouldn’t be relying on our defence.

Poch referred to Winks multiple times as a defensive midfielder. And Mourinho recently referred to him as a reason Wanyama wasn't needed in the CL squad.

Amazed there are still people who don't realise that's what position he plays.
I wouldn't describe him as a specialist DM, but rather a central midfielder, but I think I see where you are coming from. And what I will say next is not directed at you, as I think we are of the same mind on this. Many teams play with 2 central midfielders, and a central midfielder has got to be able to make it difficult for the opposition to play, regardless of whether or not he is good (or supposedly good) with the ball. You have got to get about the place, you have got to kick people, use your elbows, etc. If you cannot press aggressively, position yourself so as to block passing lanes and are too scared to receive the ball under pressure, where are you going? Being as bad as he is from a defensive/physical strength POV, he has got to offer a great deal more with the ball. So when I see him hiding when we are taking throw-ins, hiding when our CBs are trying to build from the back and passing backwards at inappropriate times, I despair.

Speaking on Football Daily (20/02/2020), Waddle said: “Winks is probably the best at reading the game out of them lot [Alli, Moura and Spurs’ other midfielders]. He’s not the most physical. He reads the game well, but there’s no physical presence.”
