Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Son is better than Werner. Don’t be fooled by Werner doing well in a German league. Son is already doing it in the Premier League.

All those players you’re naming would take time to settle in a new league, and would all be a gamble, like every transfer is.

We don’t need to replace Son and Dele now. We need a RB, DM and back up ST as priority.

I disagree, I think Werner is a better wide forward than Son, who by the way, never got close to Werner's goal tally even in Germany. But it's moot, we aren't getting Werner anyway.

We need to raise money now. Selling players like Alli and Son could allow us to do that, possibly replace them, and get a couple more good young players for vital positions too.

All signings are a gamble, we have never been the type of club that goes and buys world class players in their prime, and that has become even less doable now.

The football club or the owners? ...Which one are you actually wishing to suggest?

Despite the 2 straight forward comments of yours I replied to, I can feel the goalposts starting to move.....

Cashing in on a player for no progressive reason would be short-termism that wouldn't benefit the club on or off the pitch beyond the immediate term if one sought to take the money out of the club. Can you suggest a time when we've done that? .....Further to that point, to my reckoning there's been no case where a prize player of ours was sold for any other reason than them wanted to leave.... Can you name anyone where we've proactively cashed-in?
Mate my replies were straight forward enough too, I think your getting a bit twitchy and there is no need to be so defensive.
It was a general question I posed that with our financial worries we might seek to cash in on a valuable asset, nothing more to it than that.

I think Werner is a real talent and perhaps has a higher ceiling than sonny eventually.
I think we all love son in fact he is my grandsons favourite player, but I find him a bit hit and mess his finishing sometimes is wayward.

Sure thing, but your ability as a player and what you do for a team is not strictly about goal scoring. As mentioned he has the highest goals + assists for us over the past 2 years.. so why would you replace the player with the highest output. If anything, to get a better team.. you should look to improve your players with the lowest attacking output etc.. But before that our priorities should be on our defence.

Fair enough, if I'm being "twitchy"; I'll own it but it just seems like a bit of a non-story to me if there's already an acceptance that it's the "right" thing for the club....

Let's face it such comments are generally followed up with accusations of "no ambition" and "yachts" etc.....

More power to you if your were steering clear of such drivel.

Priority is a top class DM then defence and keeper imo.
