Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don't need a big name or an exotic name, it's just that I think we have made far too many of these type of signings lately and they are killing us. I posted some timings to watch Hojbjerg in the match thread from their game against Arse on Sunday, if you can find that post and still have the game, check out the clips, he was atrocious, his panic passing contributed to both their goals.
I watched the game he weren’t great ( have read he was struggling with a injury ) but I have seen plenty of games where he’s been good.

It’ll be a good buy imo

He's a bit reckless though isn't he (Choudhry). Bit like a Dm Aurier.
He can be reckless. But I was impressed with him today. He can also pass the ball better than people give him credit for.

He's one of the most tenacious players I've seen. He just needs to be a bit more sensible with giving away fouls. I don't like dampening a player's tenacity though but at the same time he needs to not give away stupid fouls.

Have watched about 25 mins of it. Roma's defensive organisation is insane so far. And what I wouldn't do to have Dzeko here. What a baller.

I'm 65 minutes into it now, really liking Hernandez. 20m from RM.

I really like some of the business this Milan has done recently, Bennacer, Kessie, Leao, Hernandez, (Rebic on loan) bringing in Pioli - this is the best balanced and best coached Milan I've seen for a long while.

Was reading a bit about Atalanta, they might be prepared to let Hans Hateboer, their 26 year old Dutch first choice RWB go for as little as 25m euros (contract to June 2022. Definitely better than Timothy Castagne their back up RB/LB

If the budget is tight we may need to do some compromises - get in some players we think are definite upgrades on what we have, and maybe others less good plus bring on some of our youth to get a full squad.

I'd try to bring in Hateboer to replace Aurier at RB, possibly with the compromise (according to some) of Hojbjerg as DM as knowing PL he's limited risk......or use Oliver Skipp as DM with Harvey White and Jamie Bowden as his back up which others might consider a bigger risk.

Do you have any games in particular that you recommend to watch him in this season? I’ve flip flopped on Hojberg recently, I went from being quite positive on him until I watched that Woolwich game the other day where he was involved in everything bad about Southampton on the day. He had a hand in both goals conceded.

I’m hoping it’s just because he knows that he is leaving so his form is taking a dip (I mean look how woeful eriksen became) but some of his passing in that game was inexcusable. Constantly putting his back line under pressure by consistently passing backwards when he was in acres of space.

If that’s what we are getting then I’m extremely worried, but I suppose I need to watch more of him. What ever our opinions are though I’m about 95% certain that we will sign him.

What I find disturbing is the kind of message that signing sends out. How are the board expecting top 4 with a signing like that.

Honestly I don’t have an issue if the club sees him as the right fit. We’ve signed many a player in the past with a similar reputation (Wanyama, Dembele, Trippier, Davies etc).

If he works out well is all I’m worried about, the amount of big names that don’t end up impressing across football make sure me wary of a Hollywood style name coming in for top dollar when we have a few gaps that require work on.

It doesn't have to be a big name but it does have to be a good enough player, if not then we'll spend several years trying to get rid of him.
