Match Tottenham Hotspur v Everton - July 6th - 8PM (UK)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lucas Moura and Lo Celso fight for man of the match. Dier and Alderweir good show. Winks and Sissoko not a match made in heaven. Aurier still suspect. Davies not skillfull enough for a wing back. Son still in Korea. Kane needs to be subbed occasionally. But I'll take the WIN. Ans if anyone had a doubt about Ndombele, He actually warmed up but looks like he still refuses to take off that thing off his head. Please sell him before Levy sees making those for yappy fans as a business opportunity.

Lucas Moura and man of the match being discussed in the same sentence :mourwhat::mourshock:

For those of you saying that Moura was good.. his issue is he gives the ball away too much, 53% pass success says it all. Next worst was Lloris with 65% and then Kane with 73%. So Moura giving the ball 20% more than any of our other outfield players..

If we win a major trophy (PL title, Champions League) playing the worst fucking football on earth it will be worth it.

I do not think we will be winning one, unfortunately. This type of football is not worth a League Cup.
Me either mate, currently I think we will win fuck all based on our performances.

But I am simply saying, in general, I would take boring shit football and trophies any day of the week over entertaining football that results in us always failing to get over the finish line.

Jose’s interview summary

- happy to take the 3 points after the SU result

- thinks we were very good defensively tonight

- believes we fully deserve the 3 points based on chances created

- says he spoke a lot to the guys after the SU loss and what ambition means to them

- absolutely loved Hugo’s reaction to Son at HT - showed fire and team spirit

- incident told him the players ‘care’

But what I’m saying

You can win things without playing attractive football
You can, that's true.

But that slow tempo, get a goal, then withdraw will work at best 4 out of 10?

Everton were shit tonight, equally as slow and unimaginative. And at the end of the day what separated us for them was a massive stroke of good luck. Not skill, not desire, not workrate, just luck.

That won't happen too often.

I’ll give Jose the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he is going after something deeper than performances and results right now. Maybe he’s trying to get some mental strength, toughness and a demanding attitude into us. Maybe the football doesn’t matter so much right now. Season is a write off. If we can start the new season with a more demanding team spirit and a dressing room of several leaders, perhaps all this turgid football will be worth it?
