Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I swear he always looked like a decent, dynamic attacker every time I have seen him playing for cherries.
Not the player I have witnessed. Relatively shocking ball control, passing ability and decision-making. He looks dangerous when he goes on one of those driving, straight-line, 60-yard runs with the ball at his feet. Obviously something he got from the Moussa Sissoko Academy. With little or nothing at the end of it. My God. Last thing we need is another airhead.

Coutinho is a fraud, being sent away by Barca and then Bayern is not a good sign.

So if we go off Dan KP correctly predicting our transfer business last summer I think we will end up with:

In:
Hojberg
Kim Min-Jae
Castagne
Callum Wilson

Out:
Rose
KWP
Juan Foyth

Ndombele stays as “spurs are very reluctant to give up on their record signing after one season”.

I know most would be looking for bigger names on that list but Dan KP was freakishly accurate last time so I’m just going to resign myself to this.

Atleast we may finally get to see a Ndombele/DM/Gio midfield with Kane/Son/Bergwijn ahead of them. Even if that DM is Hojberg I’m still confident we can surprise a few if we do start playing this team next season.

Defence has looked better in recent weeks and with a DM in front of them they can only get better. Left back will be our biggest weakness if this is how the window goes. Maybe Sess/Cirkin do well in the EL and force their way in to the starting 11?

If get David Brooks as well I will be happy, I think he could really be a smart signing. He had a fantastic debut season and had horrible luck with injuries this season, I think many people have forgotten about him. If we could get him and Wilson for £20m combined we will have got a great deal.

Going by that article it seems that Mourinho and the club can see all the gaps in the squad that we can.

He was spot on last summer but I think this window is gonna be much more volatile and unpredictable and Levy will be looking for opportunity signings.

There’s nothing more bollocks than the social media culture of calling players and managers frauds. Coutinho has proven himself a very good PL player and has a fantastic record for Brazil. Just because a move didn’t work out at a crumbling Barca it doesn’t make him a bad player. Is Griezmann a fraud too?

I feel like something big could happen between us and Barca.

They are poorly ran and in some shit right now. They seem desperate to unload some players. And they are trying to do so in some sketchy swap deals (Arthur for Pjanic). That could be Levy territory.

There have been multiple links with a variety of players, so I have no clue what, if any, truth is out there. But I think a shrewd and stingy but panicked Levy + dumb and desperate Barca = potentially exciting move.

Based on the rumors:
One or any combination of Toby, Ndombele, Foyth, Sessegnon
For
One or any combination of Umtiti, Semedo, Coutinho, Firpo, Dembele, Rakitic

Arthur rebel and Arthur arguing with Barcelona.
The coach did not let him play anymore and now he isn’t available

His move to Bayern didn't work out either and Liverpool haven't missed him for one second. Coutinho is a luxury player and we don't need people like him on enormous salaries. It's a non-starter when we already have a mega-salary going to someone who spends most of his time in the stands or the treatment room. Our signings this summer will be sensible and financially low-risk.

How about flip it around..... Coutinho had a decent 18 months at Liverpool and people are drunk on the stupid price Barca paid for what is essentially a luxury player.

If we can get a tune out of Tanguy it will be like signing a new player. He did fuck all last year.

I'd say number 1 priority is resolve the Tanguy situation. Either he plays and contributes or we swap him out for someone who can do so. It will make a massive difference to this team to get a proper passing midfielder in there.

His move to Bayern went fine, but they obviously wanted to sign Sane and play with more orthodox wingers.

I don’t really understand the luxury player thing. If he makes and scores goals, how is that a luxury? We still have a massive creative vacuum post-Eriksen and though Coutinho wouldn’t be my ideal choice, he could be available on loan with a subsidised wage and is a the type of player I could see Jose rebuilding his confidence and getting him playing.

Also, and I can’t stress this enough, set pieces are a massive weapon with Jose, and being able to score cheap early goals is huge if you want to be a counter-attacking team. Coutinho’s set pieces are a cut above anything we have currently.

Some food for thought...

Florentino - DM - Benfica
Wendel - DM - Sporting CP
Marcus Edwards - RW - Vitoria
Diogo Costa - GK - Porto
Toni Martinez - CF - Famalicao

Jonathan David - AM/CF - Gent
Yari Verschaeren - CM/AM - Anderlecht
Ewoud Pletinckx - CB - Zulte Waregem
Jhon Lucumi - CB - Genk
Maxime Busi - RB - Charleroi

Harry spent half a season there and helped them survive relegation.

Love Poch to bit but he got it absolute wrong by not loaning our youth players to gain real experience and build their mental fortitude.

Those loans are what helped make Harry what he is today, look how much KWP and Onomah have improved over the last 6 month/year.

And Edwards.

It's almost like footballers need games to develop. Bonkers concept eh?
