i am not 100% sure where he would play (likely bench) but he would be a great option to have to bring in those games where everything is stale and/or teams are parking the bus.

So maybe that is his role as a super sub who would fill in for rest/injuries. I think that is role that I am not sure we have now. Bergwijn kind of has filled that role but he is more of a guy to bring on to run into space/run to create space not so much to break teams down.

I kind of agree with you about being disappointed if we don't get Brooks or a player like him.
Having a creative player to rotate in is not bad to have. We grew overly reliant on Eriksen in that regard and risk doing the same to Gio.

Funny. I wouldn't have predicted this a couple of months ago but now I'd be really disappointed if we didn't get Brooks in. I think the combination of his injuries and Bournemouth getting relegated has provided one of those rare opportunities to get an absolute bargain long term.

Offered a choice of Eze and Brooks who do you take?
Eze has stood out to me as having much greater potential.

I can live with having Sissoko and Aurier in the squad. I cannot live with them being guaranteed spots in our best 11.

I am not sure that Aurier would make the best back-up, he likely sees himself as a starter so not sure he would be happy playing Cup games sitting behind someone else. Plus I think we could get a decent fee from someone in Europe for him to help strengthen our squad.

Sissoko on the bench, ok, since I do not think we could get much for him if he was sold, but my concern there is Jose seems to love him and I think once we have a loose game either as a team or by one of the MF and Sissoko is thrown right back in there. I would prefer to sell him (for anything) and go with a MF bench of Skipp, Gedson, Winks plus an attacking/creative player.

Got no issue with keeping Sissoko around as there are definite uses for him and seems to be popular. But as previous posters have said, criminal that he is in our first XI.
With Aurier my worry is , even if we sign a right back, somehow we’ll find him starting games. Therefore even if he goes somewhere for free (obviously if we can get any money then great) we’ll immediately be better off as it will force some action/activity to fill that spot.

I don't mind keeping Sissoko either, just seems like the perfect player to move on to help raise funds for incomings.

Yes that's correct. But profit is counted after the costs are cared for, so the costs are accounted for. I don't know what date the accounting year ends, if last summer's costs are included in that years profit or not. But we should still be able to use the superprofits we have made the last couple of years as a buffer now that it's a bit of an ebb.

You enquired what happened to the money.... We subsequently spent it this year.

If there is a pot of 'gold in reserve by all means let's go shopping.... If there is it should be easily proven.

We are also pleased to confirm the signing of young midfielder Alfie Devine from Wigan Athletic. The 15-year-old, who featured for Wigan Under-18s in their FA Youth Cup run last season, including a substitute appearance against us in the fourth round, has joined our Academy set-up as a first-year Under-18s player.

Kim Min-Jae, Hojbjerg, Castagne, C Wilson, Brooks would be a really impressive return for a window given our circumstances. All a level lower than I’d like to see us targeting but we have probably had to drop our standards somewhat based on needing a few, along with the lost revenue streams in 2020.

How do we all feel about Brooks being linked? Every time I’ve seen him I thought he had very promising quality.
