Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

That's an insane over-estimation.

Year ending last April was a record £113m, so more like 500m at best. i.e. Approx half the cost of the stadium project so all seems pretty fair to me.
Ok i had these figures.

2017 113
2018 162
2019 172

I assumed that 14h-15-16 was linear but probably not because of different stadiums. And based on the figure you quoted this is probably before tax.

According to the Telegraph several players at Bournemouth are lacking relegation clauses in their contracts. So Bournemouth are keen on getting rid.

Also, this bit is why they are keen to sell: "And, like many clubs, Bournemouth also have outstanding transfer fees to pay for a number of players, with the club believed to still owe £81m to other clubs with only £5m owed to them on deals. "

Each year's profit is what it carried forward to invest for the next year (be that stadium, topping up the transfer kitty or whatever).....

Sometimes incomes are projected, but GLC & co. were bought as per the 19/20 season.

"Silly boy."
I thought you were brighter than this, mate.

The annual profit / loss is the figure representing the difference between total expenditure and total turnover.

It's not really that difficult to understand.

There are a number of good players in that squad. Not real impressive by Eddie Howe to go down with so much more to work with than the likes of Palace or Brighton. I may have been quite wrong rating him for future Spurs management.

I guess you're right, the equity is tranformed from cash to fixed assets, the stadium. But if I'm counting correctly it should be about £1B in profit that last 5 years so if this has all gone to the stadium it shouldn't be that much debt left to pay off. In that case it should also be pretty easy to re-loan some in order to make the fans, the owners and Mourinho happy with new players. But I understand if Levy plays it safe right now as it stands with a possible resurge in Covid in every country except Sweden that has already taken this shit by our old Viking-strategy, let all the elderly die.

Brooks, Ramsdale, Wilson please.

Ramsdale probably could get a starting gig in the Prem but I think offering him the chance to be a goalie in the EL, FA and League Cup letting Lloris focus on the EPL and also having him be able to take over for Lloris in a year or two could be appealing to him.

Would be nice to have a homegrown player in the back-up GK spot and potentially see if he is a good option to replace Hugo as he gets older.

I understand fine, John.... Dig the accounts out and properly paint YOUR side of the story if you wanna take this any further.

If not....

- How much is in the magic pot of un-spent money?
- How much do you think is a reasonable trf kitty for this summer?

2 very simple questions... Left years un-answered by you; for as long as I've been on TFC.

It's funny, the Wenger-out lot made it their business to know how much wasn't being spent and the 200m warchest they pressured Wenger into dipping into was made pubic knowledge; you'd think someone, anyone who's staunchly ENIC-out would do similar.... Curiously enough... No-one has. :kanehand:

That seems an insane amount (even before considering outstanding wages owed on contracts)... I know they have a small stadium, but what with all the TV money how'd they get into such a mess?
Based on the reports, piss poor management. Not having relegation clauses in contracts for a club like Bournemouth is ludicrous. When you spend more than what you make and don't have an owner to bail you out, this is what can happen.

Honestly, relegation gives them an excuse to have a fire sale, take the parachute payments, make smarter purchases and provide championship level wages. That will level things out a bit and with a few smart acquisitions, assuming Howe stays on, they may be back in the Premier League in a season or two.

I was under the impression that their owner was a little bit tasty and had been supplementing them for a while anyway.... But yeh, piss poor on the contractual side of things.... + Howe didn't seem to get mileage out of any of his higher profile signings.... Even Begovic who was once a steady as fuck EPL keeper was a bit rubbish there.

We'll see how big the firesale is, but I suspect it may take longer than that....

Imagine if Villa didn’t get away with the goal conceded against Sheffield that was never given , if it was then Bournemouth would have stayed up on goal difference! :mourhandlaugh:

Assuming that Villa didn't comeback and beat them anyways. Villa were definitely the better team that game and that goal came against the run of play. There is no guarantee that Villa would not have been able to comeback in that game.

Not fussed on any of those other than Brooks.

Really liked him before his injury, but not at the price being quoted.

My concern is that he would be like another Sessegnon. Flattering in another side and then disappearing as soon as he joins us.

Wilson is if he comes in cheap and is a back-up striker so not likely a guy that is exciting but one that could be very useful in that role.

Ramsdale would be a great back-up and potential successor to Lloris. He is better than Gazzaniga and fills a domestic player slot which we need. But likely won't come as he will have better options.
