Sticking this in here, not because we are linked but more for the quote by the powers that be in Rennes. Interesting what he has to say about even the big clubs this summer, well the ones not run by a sugar daddy:

He says that whilst Utd have bid 90 mill for Sancho, City are expected to spend 150 mill this summer, and Chelsea have already spent 55 mill on Werner with Havertz expected for 70 mill as well us mega money to be spent strengthening the defence.

Randomly chatting with a palace mate about palace and Timothy Fosu-Mensah came up. If I recall correctly, his best season was under Mourinho where he looked like the next (pre-Bale) Maicon. Obviously a drop off since then but still only 22 so if we did shift KWP and we drive Aurier out to the woods, open the door to let him out and then drive off, then he might be a good back up option?

Even sodding West Ham have made Soucek permanent for £18m and look likely to get Eze for £20m. If we dont act and contine with our never ending austerity we wont do much this season and it will likely be Kanes last. We should look on this window as an opportunity to really refresh the squad and most of that can be done relatively cheaply. A lot of good players relegated and in the championship where clubs are going to be fearful of going bankrupt.

If we could sell Sissoko, Lamela, Foyth, Rose and maybe Aurier, and then bring in Castagne/Aarons, Kim, Holjbjerg, Brooks, Coutinho and Wilson then I think we are in a much better place with the squad.

Not sure I'd be happy with this.

The 31-year-old has spent the season on loan at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Perisic registered six goals and 10 assists in 31 appearances in all competitions despite a troublesome ankle injury.

Perisic has scored four times and set up six goals in his 22 league appearances for Bayern this season, adding a goal and three assists in the Champions League despite only playing more than half an hour twice in Europe.

Swapsies a go-go this summer?

Totally agree. It's a very good time to properly invest in the squad, if only we had a chairman brave enough to do that.

I like him. Lots of raw ingredients but has the potential to be a very good right back. 1 year left on his contract. He has been out for a year with a bad knee injury but is back now

West ham having been spending big for a few years now obviously it hasn't turned them into a big club but at some point one club will make the breakthrough probably at our expense.
I know the stadium line will get trotted out as usual and the we don't want to become a Leeds, but seeing clubs like this competing or spending more is embarrassing.

Soucek looks a good signing for them. He impressed me since the restart.

Yeah this is what I find amusing about west ham fans. They say the owners aren’t getting the players in and spending the cash, they clearly are it’s just they are spending it on shite players, if they had the recruitment of Liverpool or Leicester the last few seasons they would have been Closer to the top 6 then the bottom
