Saints fans seem to be of the opinion that they can't wait to get rid of Holjberg and he is an average player at best.

Is this sour grapes or is he actually any good?

be a lie to say I've watched him alot

That sentiment is 100% sour grapes.

He may not be world class but he is one of Southamptons best players. They are not going to be better without him.

So the last name changes every time there’s a new grandchild? So Hoiberg’s kids last name would be Pierresson if he were Icelandic?
As far as I understand yeah, Iceland still use patronymic surnames to a large degree.

Gylfi's children would be named Gylfisson for example. Iceland are the only Scandinavian country that still uses this tradition as far as I know.

But Iceland is not a part of Scandinavia.

To be fair, Scandinavia had a tradition for patronymic surnames. It worked out of town, but because of the industrial revolution, people merged together. And since most people had traditional names, it became very difficult to distinguish one from another. So the name laws changed and it was encouraged to use names from the place/village/farm you came from. In ex. Erik Thorstvedt's name is possible a name from 'Thors' farm or something like that.

But Iceland kept on with the traditions because of the sparsely population. Today they are now experiencing more trouble from it, and younger people are encouraged to download an app who keeps information about their genealogy, so people don't do 'fuck ups' when having random sexual intercourse.

Mourinho will be happy...

Tottenham man's agent reveals player is 'waiting' for 'more important opportunity' elsewhere - Sport Witness

However, his agent has now added some kindling to the non-existent fire, suggesting his client is waiting to see if any better offers come in.

“Davinson Sánchez still has many years of contract in Tottenham and is comfortable,” he told Antena 2.

“But he is also waiting for a more important possibility to continue progressing in all respects.”

The quote in itself isn’t much but it’s clear that Sánchez isn’t opposed to a transfer away from Spurs should it be offered.

That’s not to say he will be pushing for a move but, after Tottenham missed out on Champions League football, he may be assessing his options.

These comments from the agent could be the first signal flare being sent up to get the attention of potential suitors or to see if there are even any in the market

LOL.... Agents.

Let me preface with the fact that I like Dav and think he gets a lot of un-necessary stick, but...

He can't nail a starting spot here despite the defense being in transition; what on earth makes his agent think that there'll be an upwards move coming any time soon.

Now Skipp and Tamganga have signed new contracts, the contract position is a lot clearer.

And Levy doesnt generally like players on only 2 years left on their contract as at the end of the season they have one year left and privce needs to reduce to reflect that (but doesnt seem to do that with youngsters).

So on that basis, be interesting to see whether Aurier and Lamela get new contracts this TW or are sold for example.

Lloris long rumoured to want to retire to MLS after Spurs (but that might change with covid ?!) ....so that's likely to be June 2021 TW or even June 2022 TW.

4 years left on his contract, so only question is how much is the incoming bid ? Unless very large, doubt if he's going anywhere ?

Tbh, Hugo is 33... As a keeper, he could easily re-up for a couple more years and still go to the US at a credible age.

All of a sudden Gazza, Aurier Foyth Lamela all seem likely to be for sale this window.... And of course Rose.

I after playing well and probably pairing with Toby to have the most solid CB play of the season for Spurs for four straight games only to be sat for the managers pet in Dier and watch him play like crap I would probably want out as well.

When what you do on the pitch has zero impact on whether you play there is little reason to want to stay.

It isn't the end of the world if he were to go as we need to upgrade the CB position but anything that gets Dier on the field more is bad for Spurs.
