Uh, it's Levy. He will drag out any deal. We know this.
Not always. It looks like PEH is done bar the announcement (but could be wrong, obvs)...Janssen (rightly or wrongly) was early; Bale was signed at the end of the previous season; Dele a year ahead and then loaned back...if the deal is easy then we sign early: if the other party is being an arse, then it drags on.

By this, I would expect the Serge saga to take a long time as clubs will be trying to fleece us; same with a second striker (unless it’s an untested younger player or a club desperate to offload - B’mouth / maybe Watford). The smartest move is getting PEH early so the team can move forward without major surgery, but anything else now can be an upgrade.

I see The Grauniad reckon Ajax want Sessegnon on loan. Fulham too, but they're more likely to get Skipp.

What with the rumours about Aurier and Foth leaving, that leaves us with what, one full-back? One and a half I suppose, given that Tangana's doubling up as cover at CB.

I fucking well hope we have advanced plans to strengthen - not just cover - these positions...

He's going nowhere cos he fits the Jose mold.

The fact that this is true is what makes it hard to get excited for next season. Keeping guys who are so limited and untalented because they fit the outdated model that our manager wants to play is depressing. The fact we desperately need an injection of youth and creativity but are unlikely to get at the best of times with our Chairmen is even less likely because our manager hates both things is frustrating.

When evaluating Moura you would think that most people would say here is a player that offers next to nothing and that young, talented wingers are likely the most abundant commodity currently available so it is an easy upgrade, but instead we keep Moura because of how effective he is at running hard and breaking up our offensive chances.

There's no way Cirkin is ready for first team play, right?

In that case, you are absolutely right. We only have one FB. It's wild we aren't linked to more LBs.

It seems Cirkin had passed or at least was on par with Sessegnon last season so not sure that Sessegnon leaving changes much on at the LB position.

I am not sure when the last time Foyth played RB or if he was likely to ever play it with Poch gone.

There have been way too many links to various players not to have us bring in a RB. I think bringing an experienced RB that can start right away and young player that is able to play Cup games and ideally play both sides (Nathan Ferguson) would be great.

I agree about squad numbers, but Sess & KWP were barely a factor this past season anyway so hard to miss them specifically.

Crikin: If Jose is keen to play him then, what with the EL, things look good for the kid... I dunno how else we'd expect to break him into the squad.... Afterall, he'd get fuck all time as a 3rd choice LB.

LB is ok got Ben Davies, Sess and that Cirkin lad. RB with KWP and Aurier potentially gone we need two most likely.

If I'm not gonna get a sniff of game-time, then given C19, I wouldn't be keen to travel either.

Yeah, I just don't understand the club's stance mostly. There are apparent issues between him and Zidane/the club which has led to him getting far fewer minutes. But then they refuse to sell him? I'm pretty sure last summer he had wages worked out with a Chinese team and RM said no. They haven't really shown any effort at all in selling him. And he isn't pushing it because right now he is living the best life ever.

Parrott -> Millwall
Skipp -> Fulham
Sessegnon -> Ajax

Those are all very good places for our loanees to go imo

Curious if there's anyone on Ajax we could potentially work into coming our way in the Sess loan deal.

I would think skipp wouldn’t get a lot of minutes because Fulham are in the PL now, or does SP rate him THAT highly to be a starter in the PL already?

I'd absolutely love Thiago here but the fucking dinosaur would destroy him, he wouldn't know what to do with a talent like him, see Ndombele.

Dinosaur prefers battle hardened 30 year old clogger in midfield that is happy to sit deep and defend all game.

I think if we had Defoe while Kane was injured we’d have been much more effective. I don’t think Defoe was a world beater but he was a consistent premier league goal scorer

He was going on a free and at the last moment they asked for 30m+ and wouldn't let him go. That and the broken promises when they got him to sign a contract extension is what made him decide to behave this way.
