Bookmarked. Define "soon" for us Sammy. For me that would mean the next 2-3 seasons. And I am not one that has ever rated Maguire. I also understand 10x is hyperbole and wouldn't hold you to that. But if Tanganga is a starting CB in the PL in 2-3 seasons I would be surprised nevermind your statement.
This season as he develops under King the King

:kaneshh:

2-3 seasons?? Someone tell this man Poch isn’t here anymore...

We are not paying 50 mill for 29 year old Jiminez:levywtf: no way, no resale value
I agree.
But Raul Jimenez is the type of CF that Mourinho likes, he probably wants out of Wolves given their lack of European football, and his agent is Jorge Mendes. If he was still managing manure, I can see Mourinho trying to sign RJ.
I think RJ probably will leave Wolves, but he'll most likely end up at a CL club.

Weren't Juve linked? ....Then again, we have been a couple of times in the past too.

United would be an outside bet for me too.

Ings and Jimenez are probably the only two that fit that description and price.

I'd argue there is probably value out there across Europe that'd see us spend half of that on someone that can play up top on his own, with Kane or out wide.

Not sure I believe the D1 ramble as he's not proved very accurate for years.

However Ings should be a possibility given that he would fill an HG space very nicely for Spurs and he's had a good season, so just the injury legacy to worry about - but based on Jimenez having Mendes as an agent, as well as a decent season, he might be a decent shout.

Isn't he too similar to Kane, though?

...Suprised there aren't stronger indications of Wolves getting the vulture treatment given they don't have Europe.

I thought that was always the point of the Mendez connection (from his perspective)..... Get his lads in the prem and get them EPL proven ready for the big sell-on (& commission)....?

I agree that this was our first business model, but nowadays I do think the focus has changed a bit.

The "buy young with big potential" strategy in my opinion now is also an extra protection barrier against acquired transfers not working out/ players wanting out after a couple of years. If we buy them young, age won't become a factor that decreases their value if we 'need' to sell them afterwards.

You could see it as an attempt for some kind of insurance for their resale value if they don't work out.

In addition, young players have lower wage demands in general (I believe) so that fits in with our model of a 'modest' wage structure.
I don't think the particular model went away because levy/ENIC are big avcocates of that set up.
I think it's a case of we haven't had the need to sell for a while, but now that we are on the breadline stage I think anyone is up for grabs Kane, son, Alli etc, which I think will happen next season.

Yes, RJ is similar to Kane. But both got killed physically playing pretty much every match they were remotely fit for because they were the only legitimate CF option in the Spurs and Wolves squads.
And this upcoming season will be even crazier physically, with very little recovery time between matches.
Again, I do NOT believe we'll sign RJ.
But if we did, I suspect Mourinho's hardest job would be persuading RJ that he will get game time alongside Kane, because we would have to change our formation significantly to accommodate both as starters.

You think that the club would take initiative in shifting its best players (next season)?
