That actually seems like a very plausible scenario, but then wouldn’t that mean Chelsea don’t have a ball winning MF?

Also the fact that the Italian press keep throwing Tanguy in with DM’s across Europe like he is that sort of player is so laughable. I can’t think of two players that are less similar than Kante & Tanguy.

They simply refused to play a ball winner when Kante spent half of the season injured - and considering they look to be neglecting key positions in their team, it seems like they're going for "We'll score more than we concede" next season.

Werner
Pulisic - Havertz - Ziyech
Jorginho - Kovacic
Chilwell - Skriniar* - Thiago Silva - James
Kepa
Could quite easily be what they go for next season.

You missed out Rice?

Surely Azpilicueta over James then?

That's probably the most they could make on him being 28 years old aswell, if we get him we won't get that amount of resale value I think. But I still would take him just for his PL experience.
Best scenario is we get Doherty, he's our right back for 3 years or so, and we sign a younger right back who we are able to actually develop, loan out or use in certain matches. Someone like Aarons.

And 6th place at best.

Doherty would be a good pickup to play against the better teams as he’s a really solid defender but I’m not sure how much he’s going to add to our attack. Is there a player we can target to play against park the bus teams? KWP would’ve been perfect for those games actually.

Isn't Doherty the second best offensive fullback behind Trent over the last two years or something like that?

It's his defensive skills that can be called into question if anything.

Im not bothered about a swap for Skrinair. I’d be taking £40-£45m and going to get Van de Beek immediately. He’s desperate to come to the Premier League. If not him then Grealish.
