Not sure if it is a Tanguy hangover, but I'm seeing some pretty happy fans this window in regards to PEH and Doc. Myself included.

He’s the sort of fan who GENUINELY believes that the club makes fake bids on players like Dybala and Zaniola because ENIC is terrified of him.
I mean, what if he hires a plane or makes a little placard!!!

So Levy, who is by now absolutely shitting it, tells the press (and Juve, Roma, agents and the players themselves in Dybalas case) to all pretend that Spurs wanted to sign someone and made bids etc.
All to make Mindblown think that we are trying to improve, and once they’ve tricked him, they buy yachts.

It would be funny if it wasn’t true.

As much as we need signings in key positions - getting rid of some deadwood is just as important now

Great deals, I’m not so sure.
I can’t remember the last VDV level signing we were linked with before Dybala.
Everyone else has been up and coming quality, and in some cases not really even sought after by other big clubs.
Moutinho perhaps although that was also complicated, but yes shit timing:

Tottenham's offer was €25m (£20m), which would have been a club record, eclipsing the £16.6m that they paid to Dynamo Zagreb for Modric in 2008, and they and Porto continued to work on the deal between 11pm and 12 midnight. It is understood that Moutinho wanted the move but his third party ownership presented one issue that could not be resolved before midnight.


All of Modric, Bale, Beebatov, Dele, Eriksen, Jan, Toby, Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Rose reached their heights once already here.
Would have been the same with Grealish, who I rate, but not exactly next level in 2018.

I don’t put the likes of DeLigt, Martial, Zaha, Bony, Berahino, Schniderlin and Barkley down as “great deals” we messed up.
I’m not even sure we were even interested in some of them.

If we were serious about Moutinho we should have started earlier. Anyway - it’s a case what could have been with those other names and I really hope we have one real quality signing still coming up this window.
