Nobody has ever said it's a waste of time spending money. Or that it has nothing to do with success, just that success doesn't always correlate exactly to spending. See ManU v ManC or us finishing above Chelsea, Woolwich, ManC, ManU, Liverpool various times over the last few seasons.
There has always been more of a correlation between wages and success.
People do say that.
You'll have to give me an example of someone saying those things, I've never seen it. In the absence of evidence I'm just going to assume you've made that up. I've never seen anyone say that money didn't play a huge part in Chelsea and City having success.
I didn't say no one did this. I'm happy to talk about it. I do think some fans do this. I don't like it much either. I don't mind people saying "I don't like (or rate) the bloke but I'll give him a chance to see what he does, but I don't have much time for people who've actually spent years cunting him off and now claim he's spunkbread. But this more about misguided loyalty to Spurs than to ENIC/Levy IMO.
Anyone who said it was good we didn't sign anyone in 2018 is wrong. Anyone who said Poch meant don't sign anyone, was talking bollocks. But some don't think it was purely about Levy not wanting to spend money.
I haven't said no one ever changes their mind ever and for spurious reasoning, I was disagreeing with some of the sweeping generalisations you were making. You were painting a big sector of fans who were cheering whatever ENIC/Levy do, and claiming they are happy if we don't spend loads of money. The very vast majority don't, they just understand why that is sometimes.
As stupid as fans changing their minds just because of their misguided allegiances are fans that constantly whine and have tantrums about stuff without rationalising why some of that stuff happens.
That's not to say there aren't plenty of things that merit complaint, just rationalise it at least and don't make stuff up.
