Okay, not trying to be a downer here, but serious question.

If everything goes through properly, we'll have signed (and I'm not including Hart) this window:

Bale
Reguilon
Hojbjerg
Doherty

Chances are that one of them is going to totally flop or at least not discover what we are hoping for them.

Who do you feel is the most likely to shit the bed at Spurs?

Southampton could sell Ings to us for let's say 40 mill and buy Weghorst for 27 mill and tbh that's a good deal everyone.

However I'm liking the idea of Weghorst to us. He would offer us something different to Harry but I think can easily play with him too

The only thing that "worries" me now is how much we are paying Bale. The fact that there are no confirmations about it makes me think he is getting something around 300k per week, which is 50% more than what Kane earns. We need to be careful so this won´t become a Alexis Sanchez-United situation.

Harry gets "upwards" of 200k..... All sorts of bonuses to keep him sweet.

I'd guess Bale's is just a flat rate bearing in mind we're just paying part of his existing deal with RM.

Bale will do well but I would suspect he will need a few weeks to get his body right, Hart is just a backup, Doherty looks good even though we played shit against Everton. PEH is a good player but he doesn’t solve our DM issues as he is not a true DM.

I don’t think any will flop but I still think we need a proper DM/deep playmaker and if we are expecting PEH to be that we will be disappointed. It won’t make him a flop but it might not meet some people’s expectations.

Edit: you said not including Hart, my bad. As for Regulion I have only seen him a few time but he looks the business.

I agree, except it's appears to be a one year loan, or at most 2 year loan. So the long term implications are more contained. I don't think it can be an Alexis Sanchez, or a Ramsey at Juve (where he got a huge contract on a free transfer and the coaches don't play him) situation.
And apparently Woolwich paid a loan fee of £15 million to Real Madrid for a one year loan of Dani Ceballos and are also paying his entire salary.

I have a feeling like Hojbjerg may be less effective than what we had hoped as from what I've seen he doesn't fit the broad profile of any of the three types of centre mid and is kind of stuck between a box to box and defensive mid ... if we signed someone like sangare it could render him slightly irrelevant

Yeah, I am kind of feeling the same at the moment, but hard to base it only on one game. I originally anticipated him to come in as more of a DM role, but don't feel that it will be his true position for us. Doesn't seem to be as aggressive as we could have for a DM and not as creative as a Lo Celso. Will be interesting to see in the long-term.
