Is pie-eller the Spanish cousin of Steven Pie-naar?The accent is sort of optional outside Spain, it's easy for me cos it's on my keyboard and easily accessible on my phone, you get used to doing it (my wife's surname is Pérez for example, writing it without an accent would seem weird). It doesn't change the pronunciation at all, just tells you where to stress the word.
It's the "double ll" that's getting to me.
I had a similar nit-pickety problem with people who pronounced Llorente "Lorente" instead of "Yorente".
