Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Doesn't look like N'dombele is going to be sold (which I'm happy about) but I'm confused how we are generating the cash for all this.
No transfer fee for Bale, only wages...net spend so far is only about £40m. Assuming Aurier and Foyth leave, now it's at £10m.

Net spend around £50m and we end up with 6 new players is pretty crazy, but it seems to be tracking in that direction.

I said "started" the rebuild; not outright completed one. GLC & TN were as you noted essentially our next generation MF, but there was still another 2 x 30m players (Sess & SB) + a punt on Clarke.

I don't think there's really ever such a thing as completing a rebuild because players come and go every summer. Heck, even Liverpool and Man City are going through some kind of squad rebuilding over the next 12-24 months. It's more so that we had a lot of needs last summer and didn't address them, we just splashed the cash on a couple of very talented midfielders and hoped that could paper over the cracks on the way to another top 4 finish. The way Levy spoke during All or Nothing, it seemed like he was just waiting for the squad to take off and get into the Champions League, yet it never did.

The club spent 60m or so on three talented wingers, one of them might be a left back one day, we don't know, when we had all these other needs. That doesn't indicate to me that they thought the squad needed rebuilding.

Well done Daniel Levy, excellent work.

Aside from obviously strengthening the team, it's brought us together. It was all getting a little too fractious before, so full credit on that score as well.

I know that might not be really high on his list of priorities, but still...

It does make you wonder with this double signing plus rumours of more spending that something else is going on at the club.
Since Trevor birch joined the club with his expertise, it does make you think has someone else bought into the club or a sponsorship deal set up, whatever it certainly is good news and has created a buzz around the club.

He literally noted that a difficult rebuild was required.
