Ex-Spurs Player Gareth Bale

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Could he uave gone to city or liverpool et c? I don't imagine they'd turn him down. I guess they are riskier options for him though, and if this move goes wrong at 31 then that costs him financially when it cones to his next contract and in terms of his status, how he is perceived. Spurs is the safer option. And then theres the fact he fucking loves the club!
You got there in the end. Well done.

Let's suppose he's not the player he was before but, despite that, he's still very good in the air, has a deadly shoot from outside the box and is an excellente free kick taker, that's a lot more of a problem for the teams that faces us compared with the likes of Dele, Lucas, Lamela or Bergwijn.

Right I'm out lads if tart tart ain't gonna give us any more clues. I need to make sure that I've got all my jobs done before the big game tomorrow. I expect Gareff will bang in the perfect hattrick (how the fuck do you spell that?) for us and everything in the Spurs garden will be rosy just like 16-17 again. Night all. UTS! Welcome home Gareth.

It's a poor signing no matter how you chop it up.

If Jose plays 4231, then bale either plays on the right in place of Lucas or Stevie.
If bale plays behind the striker, then dele is on the bench, and le celso is relegated to a position in the midfield two next to either winks or holberg.

IF jose switches to 433, then ideally you need a player sitting, lets say holberg, with le celso alongside ndombele or winks, and up front you have son, kane and bale.

The signing only makes sense, if jose is planning on selling lucas, as stevie is the future.

What Jose should of done is let sess and stevie deptise for son and lucas, at least 20 to 30 minutes each, every other game since Jan.

What happens to lucas, dele and stevie.

Jose has just killed the team harmony with this signing.
I don't see lots of harmony in this team currently. So we shouldn't make any signings in case it makes underperforming players sad? If this squad were winning every game then we wouldn't need to sign anyone.....but we've been a bit shit so a little freshening up is required

It's strange.

Bale coming back is something only Tottenham fans can really understand. He marked us going from a small club to a big club, and unless you watched his every week ...it really was like watching a 100m sprinter playing football against a bunch of overweight toddlers.

I also just love the romance of the whole thing. It's nostalgic and get's us all thinking about how our own lives have changed in the last 7 years. Football can be a good reference for that kind of shit.

With him never being loved in Madrid and always being second fiddle to Ronaldo, he doesn’t really have an air of superstar about him.

He’s gonna be perfect for us.

I’m so happy to see him back. Very unassuming but a born winner. He certainly knows how good he is.

It’s just weird. For as long as I can remember we’ve been a team with one legitimately world class attacking player. Ginola, Berbatov, Bale, then Kane (special mention for VDV).

To have prime Kane alongside Bale is the stuff of dreams.

Bale was coming through the ranks in my early years of following spurs and I wasn't on any forum, sharing my thoughts, but I do remember the stat that kept following him around about how he was a curse of sorts.

Amazing to see him grow from within this club, a club that has become a huge part of my identity and life. He put on so many amazing displays and really was a Ronaldo type figure for us. Could just pull a rabbit out of his hat.

He still has some magic, but my expectations are realistic. He is going to help us a lot inside and outside the locker room and the nostalgia is real. Welcome back and thank you for all the amazing memories.

One of those memories, I will never forget. That fleecing of Maicon when I was laying in bed in my first year in South Korea. It was early morning and I was just screaming at the top of my lungs and my neighbor came to check on me. Thank you for these moments and I hope you create many more here.

The curse was a bit of a myth. Bale was seen as an incredible prospect when at Southampton. United wanted him, but for whatever reason he joined Spurs. Immediately it was obvious that he was very special. Scored against the gooners and got a couple of goals against Fulham before being injured.

He came back when we were very bad, hence the run of poor results. The curse was more of an in-joke.

Yeah, I wasn't abreast to the youth setup or really much of what English football was all about. I was new in 08' ish and just watched Spurs on TV. Wasn't until I was in Korea that I joined SC and learned about what English and European football was. I didn't know anything about Southhampton or even Chelsea for that matter. But I digress.

I just remember the media picking that up about him as well and even Harry mentioning it in an interview I believe. Funny to think that when we know what the name means now.

Don’t talk to me about SC. Permanently banned twice!
