Match Carabao Cup Fourth Round - Tottenham Vs Chelsea - Tuesday 29th Sept, 7.45pm.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Few notes from that half:

- Reggie started a bit nervous and too eager, poor for the goal. But grew into the game and that recovery sprint and tackle against Hudson Odoi was a beaut. Obviously has something about him and will give defenders something to think about - the anti-Davies
- For those slagging off Lamela - what do you expect? He's got no support, he isn't a striker and he's still battling hard and getting on the ball.
- Again, what is Bergjwin doing?
- Gedson proving he is as shit as we knew he was. Very strange he is at the club taking up a foreign space.
- Chelsea look very average
- Maybe the tactics were always hold for the first half and go for it second - I imagine we seen both Kane and Lucas fairly soon.

I like the guys effort but it is hard to see how anyone could think that he can be anything more than a late game sub used when up to press the other team.

i know there was a poster who thinks he should be our starting 10 but it is clear that he cannot come close enough to see the game to play in any midfield role let alone the starting 10. He just cannot see the open passes let alone see the difficult ones.
For years I could see tha he had talent and could have a future with us, now I can't see that anymore, he's declining for a long time and seems to think with the speed of a Pentium I.

Bad giveaway and defensive naivete from Reguilon led to the goal, which somehow made it through 3 different pair of Spurs legs into the corner.

Also had some pretty good chances. Lamela is going to get a yellow soon enough, but he's been pretty good up top, poor vision aside. Ndombele has also done well.

Hate that we are playing 4 matches in 8 days because Jose kinda has to punt this one.

Honestly don't think it is as bad as some are making it out to be. It is uninspired and we are more or less there to get it over with so we can focus on the league and EL but it's not like Chelsea are laying siege to our goal. They are dominating possession but they've only had a few shots on target.

Bring on Thursday.
Agree, hadn't looked on here at all and feel like people are watching a different game than I am. Also Chelsea's XI is clearly much closer to their starting XI than ours.

One thing is clear though, anybody who doesn't think a second choice striker is an absolute necessity observe that first 45.

How is it that we have one of the best managers in the world and a team that looks like it's never played together before?
Chelsea were two leagues above us in that half.

We're playing without a striker. Loads of lads who haven't played regularly or are new.

Hopefully we improve in the second half.

Yeah - this is the only thing (bar the score only being 0-1) that I am clinging onto as a positive.

An unfamiliar formation, A centre back making his first start for about 7 months. A debutant left back. A central midfielder who's been training and playing as a right back for 5 months and no striker.

No hard tackling. No real running off the ball. No real drive to win. Its clear the team orders are to firstly not get hurt. 9 games in 22 days will leave any team choosing their games. I can't blame Jose.
