Transfers Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Really not too bothered if we bring in a CH this window or not. To me, the new CH is an Alderweireld replacement and if needed that can come in January. My bigger concern is a DM. Not convinced PEH is a DM and if he isn’t, that’s much bigger of a concern for our defense than a new CH.

Alasdair Gold reported just 2 hours ago that we are expected to make a late move in the hope Inter will agree to compromise. I see Gazzetta trying to go the safe route (which is we're not getting him) with reporting something early hoping it sticks.

We need a CH because as evident in Europa league , players get between our CB's really really easily.

However , Rudiger is not the answer

a) Chelsea want to sell him , they have had the worst defense of any top 6 teams , so why would they want to sell him if they are trying to improve their defense? If he's not good enough for Chelsea , he ain't good enoughf or us. Simple.

b) The incident that happened in Decemeber isn't just a small thing. He accused our fans of being racist , imagine the meltdown when he would be announced .. all the likes on the tweet would be from Chelsea fans. Barely any Spurs fans want him and quite simply it'd be a PR disaster , a PR disaster that I can't see happening.

Hopefully what ValenciaYid ValenciaYid is right about Foyth being permanent , those funds should easily give us the extra money to put towards Skriniar , get him and this has been an amazing window , that rebuild is complete.

Surely there a few alternatives if Skriniar doesn’t happen.
Rudiger is a strange one, fifth choice CB at Chelsea just now and their defence is less than secure.
Apart from Demiral, there doesn’t seem to be too many other names in the frame.

Loaning Rudiger to us would be bizarre from Chelsea's point of view. Why would they even consider it? If we finish above them with him in the team they will be laughed at, I'm sure they would rather miss out on the loan fee and have him in the reserves for a year. There is no reason for them to do it.

Unless...they are trying to play 4D chess, he was shit last season so maybe they are trying to trick us into signing him and making us worse.

Rüdiger is a good smokescreen as we could sign him after the window closes to Italy, right? Levy can then play it to the last minute with Inter and tell them that we'll just get Rüdiger if they don't drop their price demand.

To be fair Gazetta have been bang on the money with this one so far, even if they aren’t as respected as Fabrizio or di marzio. They have been reporting first on this, in my mind it’s done now.

We need a CB who:

* Is left-footed
* Can play in a 2 or 3 CB formation
* Is still young yet experienced at highest level
* Hasn't got a bad/awful injury record
* Possesses the physical attributes to cope with the demands of the PL
* Can pass the ball, good with his feet
* Can go on to become a real leader in years to come, like SuperJan was
* Wouldn't cost the earth, be it transfer fee & wages
* Would be signable before 5th Oct

The (only) answer is: Abdou Diallo from PSG.

You're welcome

So Foyth is permanent....

Thanks

Rumour was a loan with option to buy at 13.5m plus 3m bonuses and a 1.5m loan fee. Personally wasn't expecting him back, as even average performances meant he would still be worth that fee for Villareal in 12 months time.

Are you saying its now permanant and no loan with 'try before you buy ''? Any idea of fee if permanant ? Villareal still ?

I have a somewhat different take.

Clubs will always feed "positions" on transfers to their trusted media outlets, so the local newspaper stories will reflect their local club's public stance.

But we know that Skriniar has been made available for offers, and the ITK suggested we know the figure his agent was told would be enough. The ITK also claims we've agreed contractual terms with Skriniar. So a deal could be done very late in the window, especially if the player has mentally decided he'd rather play for Mourinho than Conte.

Ultimately, I think it depends on Conte & the Inter board. If Conte sez "Skriniar isn't going to play much", the board may take the best available offer. We have allegedly made a substantial offer, and a couple of million more will seal it if the Inter board decide they want the cash.

Alternately, the board may decide they're keeping him, and no transfer happens.

This deal still really could go either way.
