One thing I’ve enjoyed for a chance in this window is that for once we aren’t replacing talent, we’re improving on what we have.

Previous windows it’s been about replacing Eriksen, Dembele, Walker, Bale, Van der Vaart. Now we’re adding to what we have. Good signs.
 
I think Levy will still try his best to buy Skriniar. One last bid incoming tomorrow, i feel.

If we buy him and our balance will be still be just ~60m balance, then it would something perfect for this window. 60-80m would be still good.

Not sure it is ever about replacing.

Modric, Dembele, Bale, even VdV were unique and irreplaceable. A bit like the film moneyball, it was more about trying to replicate what they provided in the "aggregate" of new or existing players. i.e. Andros Townsend initially (trying) to replicate Bale.

I remember the child spitter Jamie Carragher once saying about spurs "they've missed a Modric type player". Fucking bullshit you twat - there is not another Modric type player out there - ask Real we can buy anyone Madrid who are still dependent on him in his 35th year.
