Match Man Utd Vs Tottenham, Sunday 4th Oct - 4.30pm.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think we will play 3 at the back.
I suspect It'll be a proper 532 without the ball. There is NO way José sets us up to attack in this game. We all know that the best way to win a match is to not concede. The trouble is we can't keep clean sheets. I'd love for this to be the game where he says "Fuck it, let's score more goals than them", as I think that's how we'll win this game. I just can't see us beating them on the counter. We're actually pretty similar in terms of strengths and weaknesses. Strong in the attacking department, not so much in defence. If our midfield is the one we all hope for (Hodgebodge, NDombele and Gio) then I think we match up pretty evenly. If he goes Sissoko/Winks & Højbjerg then I think we'll just encourage them on and we'll struggle.

Anyway, let's just smash these divs.

I'm having a tenner on 7-1 Spurs.

I actually don't think it's a bad idea.

Man Utd and Chelsea are pretty similar in that their coaches are out of their depth and over reliant on a deadly attack. But are so weak defensively that if you can keep their attack relatively quiet you have a chance. And we saw how we could use 3 at the back to our advantage in the week against Chelsea and wouldn't surprise me if we set up like that (not only to rest players) but with the intention in using it tomorrow.

Over the last few months going back into even last season, we're not actually conceding lots of goals from open play. Lots of dumb penalties or set pieces costing us. But with 3 at the back and potentially a flat 5 when Utd are in attack, It could really aid us in keeping Rashford, Martial and Greenwood quiet.

Then we have that burst from Doherty/Aurier and Reguilon on either flank. Creativity from Ndombele to get them going and Son and Kane up top to cause havoc much like they have whenever they've partnered eachother.

Saying that - I'd only go 3 at the back IF Son is available.

Just had a ganders at this https://www.redcafe.net/matches/manchester-united-vs-tottenham-hotspur.349/

They're fucking delusional 😂

Most seem to think that they'll comfortably beat us.

With a couple of exceptions, we're comfortably better than they are man for man. Same old United. Delusional wankers.
Their front 4 is about equal to our front 4, and with Lo Celso out their midfield pair is comparable as well. Same with the CBs. Their RB is better defensively but ours is better offensively.

Honestly, this is the Sergio Reguilon match. I think we have a clear advantage at LB and I think he has a big match. Wouldn't put it past him to get a goal.

If we win this tomorrow, it will be such a huge boost to our team psychologically.

We need to get on a roll like Everton.
IF????

I'm worried about this one,
We are very similar, good going forward, shite at defending.

United will try to explore the spaces behind our attacking FBs, long diagonals over the top to utilise the pace of their forwards. 3 at the back could counter that, but I can see us sitting and then trying to catch them on the break, similar tactics to the 2nd half against Southhampton. Kane dropping deeper and then using the pace of Son and Lucas.

You sure 3 of those weren't goalkeepers you counted?

We need 17 outfield players minimum.

So I’ve got 20 here (bare in mind I’ve had a few cans tonight), -Vinícius because he can’t play that gives me 19.

So because we have 3 goalkeepers in that 19 you are saying we are missing 1 player otherwise our bench will be short? I suppose you are right 🤔.

Spot on.

Unless we are going to put 2 goalkeepers on the bench.....
