Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ok. Good. I was watching a game on Sky or BT 2 or some other of the English speaking channels (not American) and the commentator pronounced it Dockertee or Dockerty. Glad he did it wrong, sounded really strange.
Always thought it was an English thing? Like calling Gallagher - gallaker
Never heard it over here but hear commentators saying it 🤷‍♂️

in Ireland we'd pronounce that "kweeva"

We do have some good ones

Tadhg - Tige
Saidhbhe - Sive
Meadhbh - Maeve
Naoise - Nee-sha
Fiachra - Fee-ah-craa

Whilst everyone is farting about with pronunciations is there any truth that Doherty has covid and misses the Citeh game ?
It's being reported on Sky that he will miss City game due to 10 day isolation.

Again..... What is the point of these internationals.

Wonder how long he's had it? And do the entire England squad now need to be tested after the game on Thursday against Ireland???

What a complete shambles.

Because the Irish don't give a feck, and pronounce things how they feckin want!!!
How else did they come up with Siobhan or Aisling? ....both pronounced completely differently to how they're spelt!!!

Doherty is positively Phonetic by comparison!!
Saoirse = Sershia, how, how, how is that pronounced like that!

All about UEFA & FIFA as players are commodities to them.

Fifa have no other outlook other than to see international football is played and that their sponsorships are maintained, but
Uefa should know better and take better care of their "commodities"..... Atm they're risking the CL & EL + domestic seasons by persisting with these games. Humanitarian values aside, it's simply ignorant business practice all round.

Very true. I might add that there is a lot of pressure from nations themselves to hold the games as a sort of political pressure-release valve- rally the peasants around the flag and build rapport/identity together while unifying against "the other". Bread, meet circuses...
