Its a little early to say that. Especially considering how close we have been much later in the season.
It's pretty easy to say that we won't win the league. But we last won it 1960/61, would hardly be a shock if we didn't win it.
Jose is building a hard team to beat, we are still evolving, but even this season we are not out of the picture. Let's see. Whether we win, I think it's possible, with Pool as favourites. However, as second team in the league I see us ahead of Chavs und City etc at the moment and I think that a trophy is within our reach with three possible cup runs as the most likely route.

To be fair, Fulham don't have title aspirations... Liverpool at home was a free hit.... no one expected them to get anything.... they could afford to be offensive cos no one would have batted an eyelid if they'd been tonked!
Coupled with the fact Liverpool decided to take them lightly, played a shocker and paid the price can't be underestimated....
That they came out all guns blazing and full of energy, guile and determination against US last night is sort of a back handed compliment.... despite what Klopp says publicly!

2 losses in the league so far. Lots of stuff to be happy about. We've just had a long stretch of big games. We were bound to lose eventually and hit a snag. Up and at them again.

I hate this whole "we got it spot on" when we're off the back of a defeat. Obviously he didn't get it spot on, or we wouldn't have been beaten.
We need to settle for some kind of middle ground between the defensive solidity we have showcased as of late. And the high octane attacks we showcased early in the season.

A top 3 finish and a trophyless season would not be good enough. In my opinion anyway. Look at our squad. A top 3 finish should pretty much be a guarantee.

Yes. But I was talking league wise. We will win the league cup and maybe euros league. Very confident. A trophy is a must this season
Yeah - I'd take top 3 and a trophy.
I'd be slightly disappointed if we finished 3rd in all honesty but the trophy would supress that a bit.
I just think we can finish anywhere in the top 3. Liverpool will certainly do and City is still city. Chelsea to come 4th imo. But yeah CL qualification and a trophy will be good
True, but the way this season is panning out expectations have risen. I'm not one of these deluded melters that seems to think we should be winning every major trophy in sight.
We're not that type of club and never have been in the Prem League era. One of the main criticisms of Poch was that we didnt win the league that year and that we didnt win the CL final against Pool. Think of that as criticism for a Prem SPURS manager - its almost praise.
Jose will get the same if we dont win the League i expect but I'm happy we're in the running and looking consistent. Expectations are high but I'm under no delusions that we are still punching above are weight. Theres clearly progress being made and we're on the up but still a lot of work to do. I think it was Jose himself that said he expects next year to be the one we are ready - he has clearly identified that we can still improve in certain areas and is probably targeting the summer window to resolve those issues.

I think Jose got it pretty much spot on yesterday, we created 3 massive chances which you simply have to take away at Anfield. The only thing I think he got wrong was actually not going more defensive at the end, It should of really been Rodon instead of Dele, there would of been no shame settling for a point at the end there when they were pressing for the winner.
I had top 6 as my minimum for the league going into the season and one of the cups to build some winning mentality/feeling in the squad. But with the run we went on up until last night night I now want top 4 and a trophy.
But I am going to remain grounded and say EL spot at minimum next season for the league.
