Match Spurs vs Leicester City 20 Dec 14:15

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I like many others was very happy with the line up but the first half way not great (Aurier error aside). The issue we have are the defensive isn't good enough so we are forced to play so deep to mask this problem, sometimes this works but sometimes it doesn't. We need to upgrade several positions to be a title challenger, the best we can hope for is getting a trophy and maybe top 4.

Need to adjust our style of play against the "lesser" teams - today was garbage.

Time will tell if this week just ends up as a blip/bad run and we can recover some consistent form over the next 5/10 games.

Wolves next in the league is another tough fixture
What are you talking about "lesser" teams? Leicester came into this match in 4th and are now 2nd. They're a good side.

None of this surprises me one bit: our league position was false, Mourinho-ball is utter shit, our squad still very average, Bale signing nothing but a marketing stunt for a player that's finished. There was never real substance behind this so called title challenge. We are still in need of a huge foundational rebuild.

I don't normally single out players for blame but I'd be happy not to see Serge for a while. What the hell was he thinking?

I'm not melting yet. Think we're still in for a good season. The same people crying cos we might go 8th are the same ones that couldn't enjoy us being in top cos 'its not May'. Can't have it both ways.

Now...if we lose to Stoke...

:mourcheeks:

We weren't great today and to be fair to them Leicester did just what they needed to.

We have had a bad week, but there is no way that the level of despair around this thread is justified.

Interested to see what Jose does vs Stoke midweek.

Does he rest all the starters to recover for Wolves or prioritise trying to win the carabao cup?

If we abdicate to play we will concede goals, doesn't matter if it's a penalty or an own goal. The team that dominates has more chances of winning and Leicester deserved it. Maybe next time we try to play football and we can get something.
Yep. 100%. The more chances you make the more goals you score, its pretty simple. But what we need is to adapt, have a Plan B - we didnt need to play this way today.

Not really looking forward to this.

Can't put my finger on why, it's not that I think we're gonna get beaten or only scrape a draw (although of course we might), I'm not one for having a gut feeling either way before games, just I'm not feeling that pre-game "spark" or whatever it is, where you're counting down the hours and minutes. I just feel sort of flat about the whole thing.

And before anyone says "Mourinho's football", it's nothing at all to do with that.

Mate, you were 100% spot on.. Like the boxer who tells you he is going to throw a left hook and during the fight throws a left hook.

No one can say they weren't warned.
