Match Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur | Sunday 17th Jan, KO: 14:00

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Matters not a jot who starts for us unless they perform.

I won't be anticipating a win.

That's the spirit. If you took a fan of any sport around the world, showed them the league they would 99.9% expect Spurs to win.

He's gotta make strong psychological gestures to pour forward when in the lead, bring on an additional attack minded player, be up on the touch line waving them forward continually. In his place I'd get them in NLP class to bind a gesture to the feeling of 0-0, to instigate that feeling from muscle memory when leading.

You can get beaten up by hope. Far better at times to expect the paucity that follows than to anticipate contentment only to once again be disappointed.

There are only so many times failure can be dragged from the hungry mouths of success.

If we play the same shit vs Sheffield united and don't win again I feel like that will be the final straw for quite a few fans. All well and good playing that way against city or liverpool but against a team with 1 win in 18 not acceptable imo.

I'm not one for superstition, but the omens aren't good, at least in my corner of the Madrid sierra...

Just went to the supermarket. As I was leaving, I went to squirt a little sanitiser gel onto my hands. It missed entirely, sending a vast bukkake of sticky gel down my trouser leg. The shock made me drop the shopping bag, breaking a bottle of wine in the process. In the confusion arising from rescuing my shopping from the river of white wine and glass, I left the steaks behind and had to make a return journey from home to recover them.

I give you they could be better served.

They definitely could be but in the last few games they have both been extremely wasteful. We need to demand more from the team but they are not exempt from that. Against Fulham players of their quality should have scored 4 or 5 goals from the chances they had just like Dier should have easily headed the ball away for the Fulham equaliser. Everybody in the team needs to give much more.

I don't know why but I'm more confident about this game than I should be.

Looking forward to it. This morning is dragging.

Think I am gonna avoid this place from 1pm when the team is announced until after the game. The melting pisses me off more than the match most of the time.

New routine, new winning run I reckon.

You can thank me later 💋

We need to try a new tactic. Why don't we try and completely bore the shit out of everyone in the first half instead of the second half, then in the second half actually try and score a goal? That way we'd have less time to try and hang on to a lead.

Yep 100% agree with you.

We just have to win, if we don't then I'm genuinely worried about us. My head is screaming 1-1 at me but let's go with my heart 3-0 to Spurs.

Every game week I go in thinking "this is the week where it all clicks and we smash someone with attacking football " but we inevitably fuck it up.

I'm just running out of enthusiasm for our games at the moment and it's genuinely sad, come on José, give us something to smile about!

What the hell went so badly wrong for a side that finished 9th last season?

Would have a look at Berge if they went down. They're fighting for their lives, this shouldn't be an easy game.

Last season they won a lot of games on fine margins, they kept a lot of clean sheets. This season they lost their goalkeeper from last season and have had injuries in defence, they more or less play at a similar standard but they aren't coming out on the right side of those fine margins anymore. They are not the type of team that has the quality to win matches without a clean sheet.
