Manager Jose Mourinho

Quite the sales pitch!
I want to agree with you, and you make some great points but if I'm Nagelsman then yes, I turned down Real at the time, but that was then, 3 years ago nearly. With 3 more years of experience under my belt and having enhanced my credentials significantly in that time, now is the time to manage a truly elite team.
Keep telling yourself that we are one of those elite teams but fantastic facilities don't make us an elite team by any stretch. We have the set-up, I fully agree, and we have the foundation to become that in future, but we need to identify the next Nagelsmann in my view. I would love to be proven wrong but if I'm Nagelsmann I look at Spurs and think that could have suited me a few years ago but now I want to win titles.
Please have the courtesy to read my post properly.

We're NOT an elite team! I specifically stated this in my post.

So now your justifying losing to spam just because in they are 2nd in the form guide based on the last few games. Well we were top or 2nd can’t recall and palace got a draw against us. Temporary form doesn’t mean a tram is great or we can’t beat them! Look at us we were too after 10 games yet have fallen off a cliff. So your logic is that it is ok to lose to spam now bcos they are 2nd in the form guide. You jose fan boys just don’t give up do you. I mean how did pool beat spam considering the run they , pool , are on?

I hear a lot of you pay 'lip service' by admitting that our players are making lots of individual errors, but you somehow then place most of the blame at the feet of our manager! Like he coached the player to make the mistake! (am I the only one who thinks this is madness?)

Jose coaches the team, so he is not totally without blame...and when his tactics/selections result in a bad performance, I do blame him and I want him to learn (fast) and do better....but I don't feel that his tactics are the main problem, except for maybe 3 or 4 games this season. Right now, he is a manager who does not have a team that can play his way....so yes, mistakes will happen as square pegs are (usually by necessity) placed into round holes.

It is plainly obvious that we have some players that are simply not good enough and that is what is hurting our form the most right now. Jose has barely started with the 'painful rebuild' we all knew was coming, so sacking him now is just not a solution I can get with.

Jose must stay to finish the job, something he has actually done quite brilliantly at a few other clubs already...oh and this may take longer than we would prefer, mainly because of the state we were in well BEFORE Jose arrived...and the fact that we are not the richest team around!

I think that some of us have run out of patience too soon, maybe it's because Poch had us believing in dreams and we miss the good times, or maybe it's because Jose was once 'the enemy' and we can't forget...or because some of us put 'style' above success....etc etc etc

Whatever, I want us to win things first and foremost, our style of play is secondary to me...and it will improve with better players anyway, so patience is key right now.

I trust in Jose 100% to deliver and win things with us and I'm pretty sure Levi does too, that's all that matters in reality.

Where?

I agree that it might be unlikely that we get Nagelsmann but everybody keeps saying he wants to go to a bigger club while ignoring there are none available to go to.

I think now is our best chance to convince him that he can come here and have a shot to win things. There would be little pressure like at other clubs, the chance to build the squad how he likes, the potential to keep some elite players or move them to fund moves he likes.

Its not a perfect pitch to him but when there are no better options it might be the time to strike. I think the problem is he won't see us as a better job than RB so he just stays there,
He won't leave RB mid-season when they're challenging for domestic honours (only 5 pts off Bayern) and still in the knockout stages of the CL (for now..!). Why would he?!
By the end of the season plenty of clubs will be reassessing their managerial positions depending on how the season pans out. Real or Barca, depending on who doesn't win the title, for one (or even both it Athletico win).
Agreed that now would be our best chance to get him but I don't see why he would ultimately take a step down in the context of this season alone?

Jose...is that you?

well how were we supposed to know Bale was going to be a disaster ? Most of us were ecstatic when we got bale back and bought in what looked like a decent back up finally to Kane in Vinicius. You can’t tell me it’s a shit window Just because they have looked poor. Fact is, Mourinho was backed and with the squad at his disposal, we should be a lot fucking higher than 9th
Mourinhos “style “ makes everyone look crap. Same was said about him in his 2nd spell at Chelsea. Can’t help but feel regardless of all the BS he comes out with his heart isn’t in it for spurs. This is the man who left RM to go back to Chelski and proclaimed his ultimate love for them! He only went to manure bcos Fergie prbly persuaded him and it was a big ego trip for him with a blank cheque. Here out fool the chairman gave him a blank cheque to write his own salary.
to be honest I don’t really see much disappointment in him or even really anger apart the blank stare whe we are losing.

Do you really think anyone is celebrating?

Maybe closer to pointing out that we maybe shouldn’t all be tying nooses for ourselves.

He literally mentioned how we're 5 points better off, scored more and conceded less than at the same stage last season as some way of saying how Mourinho is doing a good job.

In the last 16 years, only 4 seasons have been worse than this one. And in 3 of those seasons the manager got sacked.

No chance he leaves midseason I agree.

I think Barca is going with Xavi next so they are out.

Maybe RM.

Honestly I think there is maybe a 10% chance at best we get him but it isn’t as easy for him to go to a bigger club as some seem to be suggesting.

I know what he literally mentioned. Didn’t see any sign of celebrating. But you did, so all good.

You know I'm actually proud of how fair I've been to the man. I knew he was shot even watching in the charm offensive he was on in SKY/BT studio's. I never brought the 'I've changed' bullshit. Mourinho is a Trump level narcissist , and like him evokes cult like loyalty. But listen to him talk to people, listen to how he talks about people, how he talks about football, he is a relic of a bygone sporting and social culture. Modern management in most businesses do not relate like this to people any more. Still I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was encouraged by early results if not the football...but my god has he lived down to expectations he has arrived at the burn everything stage in record time. This is his last big job he is being currently out coached by Allerdyce Dyche, and David Moyes he has no place left to hide.

Imagine celebrating that we are 5 points better off this season than a season that saw our best manager in 30 years get sacked.
Sounds good doesn’t it saying 30 years.
Let’s have a look though.
1990-1999......ok to utter dross, won two trophies

2000-2010 utter dross, to decent to excellent, won a trophy

2011-2015 crap
2016-2018 excellent
2019 mixture of really good to utter, utter shit

Then the Jose era.
So basically when Poch was sacked, out of those 30 years we’d been good to excellent in:
2005/6/7/8
2009-11
2016-18

About seven proper good seasons, and Poch managed two of them

Believe what you want.

If you don't think Pochettino has been our best manager since the Prem began. Good for you?
