Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Only TAA had a hand in more goals than Doherty over the last 2 seasons - and many thought he was a bargain upon signing him.

And to many that was RB upgraded.

Hojbjerg and Reguilon have been a success.

You only have to look in the transfer window thread to see the excitement upon Bale arriving and the excitement of a Bale/Son/Kane trio.

The majority of the fan base called it one of the best windows we've had in years and we got key areas upgraded (bar centre back) and even then for the opening few months our defending from open play was getting rave reviews.

Obviously looking back, Doherty was been shocking, Rodon has barely featured. Vinicius can't get a meaningful game and Bale has been a flop - but 5 months ago, there were reasons to be excited
I'm calling it as now though.
Yes, on paper some of them seemed logical if unspectacular. Now most seem tragically bad.

They chose the cheap option because it was that or nothing. Inter wanted a big fee for Skriniar and we couldn’t afford it.

We have an extraordinary amount of debt and we will be be playing in an empty stadium for the entire season, there is no more money to spend on players.
I mean we were only let's say £10m off Skriniar.

If we'd got Skriniar it would've 100% improved our league position and we therefore would get more money at the end of the season.

Risk = Reward.

Probably about the 10th time I've said this but here goes again .

I wonder what our season would've been like had Jose been able to buy Ruben Dias or Milan Skriniar rather than Joe Rodon.

Surely we'd have conceded less goals and look better defensively.
The solution was so simple yet ENIC/Levy chose the cheap option.

We really need that better CB perhaps that would've helped Jose win over more people.

Many fans were happy with the Summer business but I always maintained the stance this window was a 7/10 without the CB because I knew the CB would cause so many problems... Really dissapointed we didn't make that final push with the CB but that's spurs for you.
Maybe Jose shouldn't have gone all out to give a 4yr deal of £125k per week to Alderwield or a 4yr contract at £85k per week to Dier? These two players have been his targets whilst he was at Utd, he made a very big thing about tieing them down to new contracts at Spurs, made it his absolute priority!

In his bed, he must lie.

If poch end up winning UCL with PSG, this means our club is the problem ,not the manager
him winning ligue 1 with PSG is never an achievement we know , but i am talking about UCL if you don't realize
Poch , one of the best young modern progressive attacking coach, failed to win trophy in his 5 years here
mourinho ,the man who won trophies everywhere he went in his 20 years career, hasn't win anything yet here
What does that says about our club ?

Oh also you are talking about pts per game ,i am talking about trophy, that already shows where our level are.
You don't half talk a lot of shite, PSGs resources, squad quite frankly shits on ours is more the reason.

PSGs ability to compete in the UCL wasn't ever to do with there ability it was to do with their motivation, walking a shit league week in week out makes it quite difficult to compete in more competitive matches when called apon. There tie with United in the CL last season was a perfect example.

Firstly Poch wasn't an attacking manager with us he was possession orientated, secondly he was manager to loose a 2 horse Tittle challenge on 2 occasions and failed to win finals, semi finals and quarter finals. His views on cups competitions, basically they were not worth in in his eyes, is probably the reason why he didn't win any.

Because he doesn't have the adequate defense to protect the lead , back then he had petr cech , terry, carvalho , paulo ferreira ,gallas , makelele essien / mikel protecting the lead and leaving the opposition hopeless, 1 goal in and it's over..what we should do is giving jose the right personnel to do so.

Jesus here you are again, if you don't have the tools to implement a particular style of play, a manager of Jose's experience should be able to change that tyle of play to suit the tools he has. He rode in hailing what a great squad he had to choose from.

Exactly the same thing he did at United, we didn't wanna believe it, he had changed we thought but right now, this is going right along the same lines as his spell with them, without the trophies.

How people thought he would "change" with zero evidence to support it is utterly mind-boggling.
To be fair I was willing to give him time, even with the shit football we managed to get results with some good spells of play. Then the West Ham game happened and things went south, for all of it I still like him, and want him to turn it round sadly I cant see it.

Don’t give me any power in politics/law enforcement/intelligence.

I’d be punishing everyone who thought bringing this fossil in was a good idea. I’m beyond angry and events at the Camp Nou just poured gasoline on how I feel.

Bunch of idiots. WINNER!

There is a reason why the most successful clubs in the world, the ones bagging all the trophies in their domestic leagues and competing in Europe at the highest level all play progressive football. Playing like Stoke doesn't win you trophies. The facts overwhelmingly support this.

Not to let facts get in the way of a good argument, but you do realise that up until we shipped 3 against City, we had the 2nd best defensive record in the EPL this season? (not 4th best). Liverpool are 14th. United 12th.

Our attack is the problem.
you think that has nothing to do with mourinho blanketing them with midfielders to protect them? they are not good defenders and even worse footballers. the reason we cant get hold of the ball for a decent period of time is because the back line is riddled with donkeys who cant pass the ball well enough. sanchez, dier, aurier and davies wouldnt get into any side in the top half

There is something incredibly wrong at the minute, Jose's pragmatic tactics coupled with the players looking uninterested. We have a pretty shit run of games starting with West Ham, if we loose there I fear we will be no where close to top four this season.

thing is mate, it shouldn’t be a shit run of games. These are games our team if actually managed properly should be winning. Wolfsburg AC, Westham, Burnley and palace. Don’t care what anyone says, we should be winning all 4. Achieving this is another thing altogether and just goes to show how shite we have been, where we are worried about these games.

Are we blaming Jose for contracts now?

That not on Levy?

What was Jose supposed to say, ‘they’re shit, sell them’.

I imagine Levy told Jose that there wasn’t much money about so he has to work with what he has.

Totally agree, I just think right now in the derby games we simply don't have the extra fight needed in the derby games, Burnley will be a proper shithouse game. But yeah we should be beating those teams.

It did in the past see Leicester City or Jose’s Chelsea. But attacking football with Pep and Klopp in the league has changed the game, you would have to have an insanely good defensive midfield and back line to have even the slightest hope and we don’t.

I dunno I think Levy buckled with Toby, its pretty clear he was going leaving probably due to the contract not being long enough, Jose joins and he gets a 4 year deal?
