Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If we lost Son we've lost 15-20 goals a season - Grealish wouldn't replace that.
woudnt need to directly replace that as i think he makes us better as a team all round so it would be spread and then some.

sons very good once hes in behind and he can deliver a good cross from time to time but thats it. hes a counter attacking forward. think grealish makes us a better team to get on the ball and dominate games

I don't really get the idea of selling Son, I doubt we get enough in a sale that it would allow us to improve our team overall and he isn't old enough that he is likely to decline or limited enough that he is hurting us.

If you could get Sancho for a similar price of a Son sale, I doubt it, maybe that makes sense because you gain youth and a HG player, and while there is likely a drop in quality right now that difference is likely smaller or none existent over the next few years but outside a move like that, which I think isn't remotely realistic, why not just keep Son?

I would say that is a pretty terrible assessment of each but to keep it simple, yes.
why is it? im talking actual football..son struggles, we see it week in week out..earlier today a simple overlap by bale after a nice bit of play and he over hits a simple lay off breaking down the move...see it time and time again from son he struggles to actually keep the ball in situations. he is good once hes been put in behind... he can be very good in them situations..but thats a limited forward imo and for the money we could get for him we could get a far better player tat would improve the team...the only people who think sons better than grealish is biased spurs fans or little blokes with son as their profile picture

Again, use your brain.
nvm. it's probably too hard for you.

We don't see him struggling week in and week out, and it seems most people agree with me. Today is a great example where even when he is not scoring he is providing assists to create goals, he is punishing the defense with runs and testing the goalie with quality shots.

Grealish is a player that has done well when he doesn't have to fit into the structure of the team, he can dominate the ball and is allowed to do everything on his own. He has shown very little ability to fit into a team where he would not have the majority of the ball, where his defensive lapses would not be outweighed by his attacking play and where him running all over the field would not work with other attacking players who are at his level or better can't figure out what he is going to do.

It is possible that Grealish could adapt to that as he has obvious natural talents, but a lot of what he does at Villa would not work at Spurs because we don't need him to do it all, we have players that are equal or better than him that need that ball as well, that work with knowing where to run, knowing where others will run to.

Grealish also brings a lot of off field nonsense with him as well.

I am not opposed to the idea of adding Grealish to the team, especially if we persist with Jose as we need more players that can create on their own, but swapping Son for Grealish in no way makes us a better team.

Every time Son doesn't dare to score the sane old cunts come out stating we should sell him.

Could it be a racial thing?

:sonhmm:

Nope and it is ridiculous to even bring race up.

Winks gets called out all the time, Dier is one of the players who gets called out repeatedly. Lloris has taken flak recently.

Bringing up race as a problem when a player is criticized is lazy and totally uncalled for.

He was a lot better today. Thought the second assist was sublime. Lacking confidence in front of goal right now but starting to look more threatening and lively again which is obviously a positive.
