I was thinking about it yesterday during the game. If Fulham are relegated, they will be the best team to be relegated in a long time. There are some very good players there. Anguissa would be my first choice.
That's why I want Fulham to be relegated. TBH from game to game I forget which one of their guys does well but there is a lot of talent in that side.

1/ Dier and Alli out for Skipp and Sessegnon could mean balance on HQ quota?
2/ How so?
3/ I think give Aurier a one year contract extension. In 2022 summer transfer window we could then get a new RB and RW as Bale and Aurier leave.
4/ It is a gamble, but in my opinion the best 2 CBs that can be bought at a reasonable price. Skriniar is good but a bit slow, so perhaps a bigger risk in PL.
1) Skipp and Sess are too young to count as part of the HG quota
2) Idk I feel like we have good depth this season and if we replace Moura with someone like Sessegnon who is more of a LWB rather than a winger I feel like we have less depth in that position
3) Fair enough. i'd like to fix RB this summer but perhaps your solution is the best.
4) Kinda could help with Point 1 maybe we could get an English CB from another PL team. There's plenty of other names out there to for CB.

1/ Is the rule that you need a specific number of players who fit the HG quota? Or is it that you just have a max limit of foreign players (in which case Skipp and Sessegnon would cancel out Dier and Alli leaving).
If they really don't count, that's an absurd rule, as what if a team had only 19-21 year olds? Would they be disqualified for not having enough HG players? Doesn't sound right to me.

2/ Yeah I've looked into it and Sess actually has played mainly at LB at Hoff. Perhaps sell off Davies instead of Lucas to be replaced by Sess.

3/ Yeah hopefully Aurier accepts one year extension. Not many great RB candidates now anyway 👍

4/ Which PL CB would you look to get?

1) Nah you have to have a certain number of HG players otherwise your foreign player limit is even smaller
2 and 3) Ok
4) Idk yet , get back to me on that one.

Five Five Who would be your ideal targets for CB?
Beyond French and English football, I don't know enough about what's out there.

In France, I like Monaco's Disasi (though I feel his progress has stalled), Diallo at PSG, and Todibo (on loan at Nice), but I can't say if they will reach the top.

reachingforthestars reachingforthestars is probably the man to ask. His diet is more varied, and I think he has a very sharp eye for CBs.

reachingforthestars reachingforthestars go on then who do you reckon we should bring in , in summer.

They only tended to play that when he wasn't starting.

He's started 13 games for Hoffenheim in all comps and played LB in a back 4 system in 9 of them.

Ah ok, you could be right, I have only watched bits and bobs of Hoffenheim, hardly any full games, but whenever I did, they seemed to be 3 at the back and WB’s. WhoScored says they used it 19 times, back four 6 times? But WhoScored isn’t always right on formats.

I am sure Spurs agreed with Hoffenheim before the loan that Sessegnon would play LB/LWB whilst on loan with them - rather than alternating as LW - just to ensure he got a solid season in the position Spurs want to play him in.

So I'm pretty sure he is penciled in to be LB/LWB for Spurs next season along with Reguilon. Makes a lot of sense as Sessegnon should be far more similar to playing like Reguilon than Davies.

If we thought he would play LW at Spurs next season he'd be doing some of that at Hoffenheim.

IMO its then a question of whether we want to keep Davies as a 3rd cover LB and an alternate LCB or sell him. Not sure he'd attract a big fee so Mr Consistency might stay, just depends on other transfers in summer

I think he's actually played a couple of games at LM/LW as well as Hoffenheim. I doubt we'd be dictating where he plays to be honest, although I'm sure we gave them our thoughts and they'd have watched him play in various positions too before signing him.

I don't know where his future lies, or if it's actually with us, I never really rated him as a LB, but he doesn't appear to have developed on as a LM/LW, so...who knows, be good if he's developed the LB/defending side of his game at Hoffenheim, might save us a few quid.

His best role is as an LB/LWB imo.

Its easier to develop the defensive skills than improving offensively. Also I think the competition is stiffer upfront.

Oh no! That’s very kind of you, Five Five , but nothing of quality comes to mind.

I’m pretty amazed how quick Todibo and Saliba have found a working relationship at Nice, and out of the two I’d definitely prefer Todibo due his mobility and ball carrying abilities (although he does tend to dribble around a bit too much atm).

A couple of left footed players I’m watching in English football would be Pascal Struijk (Leeds) and Llloyd Kelly (Bournemouth). Both fairly mobile but wouldn’t have a huge impact atm. There’s another future prospect at Leeds in Charlie Cresswell. I think he’s captaining their U23s. He’s very good on the ball and great distribution, but unfortunately he’s not that tall.

Other players I’m keeping an eye on at the moment but still raw talents: Loic Bade (Lens), Maxence Lacroix (Wolfsburg) and Goncalo Inacio (Sporting).

All just young prospects, whilst the pipe dream would be our own VVD. Honestly I can’t see who that should be at this moment. If we were to spend big I’d probably go with Jules Kounde even though I’m not too fussed about his height.

My choice at this point would be Jean-Clair Todibo, especially if Barca would still sell for something like €13m
