Interesting to watch his BBC interview, at the end he complains that many times when we are on the ball in midfield he knows the ball is going to go back to Hugo via the CBs instead of forward.
Why can't he stop this from happening if it's so obvious to him that it's going to happen? I do believe that he is trying to move away from his traditional Mou-ball (even though our best results came with that football) but for £15m a year he should be able to translate his instructions to the team. If Ndombele, Hojbjerg and Lo Celso keep playing backwards when they should play forwards, that's on him.
There is such an obvious disconnect between the way he wants us to play and his fundamental principle of not taking risks. Right now we are stuck in this mindset of safety first x attacking football, which leads to us just faffing around for most of the match, too scared to attack the game in case we give the ball away.
