Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What is he rambling on about now:
“José Mourinho has dismissed Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s suggestion that trophies can act as an “ego thing” for managers and clubs, pointedly noting that he doubts Sir Alex Ferguson is in agreement with his former charge.”
Again before a big game he talks nonsense about the opposition. If OGS goes into win EL and get second and we don’t get CL or win LC his gonna look a fool again. Not sure why he needs to needle the oppo especially before we play them?

A new manager bounce over the last 8 games of the season might be enough to get us CL football next season.

Less compensation to Jose for finishing outside the European places or a better startingbppint for the new managers reign? I know what i thinks better
The weird thing about all of this has been that missing CL football will cost the club more than the rest of Mourinho's contract. So in Levy's mind it is more likely we get top 4 with Mourinho than without him at this point.

I don't think bringing in a caretaker for 8 matches will suddenly see us playing flowing football and all of our issues resolved, but I have a hard time believing the team would perform worse than they are currently.

Sometimes it seems as though he hides behind the fact that English is not his native tongue. He comes out with utter clap trap and you automatically assume that what he is trying to say is lost somewhat in translation. I think he realises this and lays on the bullshit with a trowel as he knows we will put it down to the language barrier. Bullshit baffles brains as they say
I’ve often thought this about a lot of overseas managers including Poch. He came out with some pretty off the wall stuff too. Easy to blame the language barrier, but for someone like Jose it really shouldn’t be an excuse. He is a very clever man with a fantastic command of English.

You are right about Pochettino doing this as well especially towards the end. I think it’s some kind of deflection technique to stop them from having to answer relevant questions concerning difficult situations

I think Pochettino genuinely struggled with expressing himself in English, didn't he always use a translator before joining Tottenham ? Mourinho can't really use the lost in translation excuse though . wasn't translating his actual occupation before he commenced on his career of poisoning the world of football..

What the fuck is he talking about? He says some weird things.

From that article:

Mourinho was asked to clarify his comments about the Belgian but made it clear that he was not going to revisit his words with anyone outside the club.

"I can’t clarify and I can’t clarify because you spoke about it for the whole week," he said. "You play the game, enjoy the game during the whole week and now I want to enjoy my game at 1pm and now I’m here to answer to the question that you already answered for the whole week.

"There is nothing for me to clarify. If I have to clarify, I clarify with my people and not with the people who knows everything and wrote and spoke and sold papers and with audiences on radios and TVs.

"You don’t even pay me a percentage so I’m not going to play the game. Let me play, I’ve been working in the gym for two weeks for this game and now I’m going to arrive late."

Edit: BTW he definitely said it José Mourinho at odds with Ole Gunnar Solskjær over egos and trophies
Never heard such absolute bollocks. Good grief, how much longer?

Just spoken to my mate who played with Bale and Davies in Euro 2016 and still speaks to them. Apparently it’s a complete mess and training is a complete farce, no-one takes much notice any more and he’s a joke

obviously this is just one side of things but you can see it being the case

Not currently a fan of Jose, but what’s he said wrong there? Ole, as well as he’s doing for United, is clearly downplaying the need for him to win a trophy, which is the minimum requirement at that club.

I guess what Mourinho is implying is that SAF, who made winning trophies a habit that you either shared or you’d be out, would disagree with what Ole is saying (or trying to say) here.

Again, I am just guessing.

Not surprised. Was saying before our tactics consist of sitting deep and staying in position with players trying to win individual battles then soon as they get the ball look to boot it to Kane or Son. It’s why we look so passive in defence and then clueless in attack but for Kane and Son linking.

It reminds me scarily of my U14 youth teams, the way we played was identical to the current Spurs team. Sit deep, hold position, win your one on one battles and get the ball forward quick as possible. It’s pub level!

It’s why as a team we don’t look like a team and rely on Kane or Ndombele magic to win games.

Agree - but I think their disdain comes from the apathy of training rather than negative match tactics

Says Mourinho who spent £420million to finish second with Man Ure and then make a life out of 2nd being an unbelievable achievemnet.

That was just Mourinho banging his own drum as usual to try and keep himself relevant. If we somehow manage to finish 4th, he’d no doubt be hailing that as his greatest achievement in management. For the record, I reckon we’ll finish 7th or 8th.

As long as we finish with Mourinho being sacked, all will be good.

What I’m saying is that is there any need for him to bring up this shit? What his trying to say is basically he won two trophes with manure in his first season and ole has won nowt. His putting him down. No need before a big game. When mourinho can’t back it up with how he has done with us so far.

And no doubt if we finish 7th or 8th he’ll still try and claim it was a great achievement, or at least try to absolve himself of blame somehow
