Player Heung-Min Son (손흥민)

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think Son will sign because he isn't a truly top-level performer. Kane is the only player we have of that level imo.

Son has streaks where he is hot and streaks where he is not. Overall, he's a big positive for us though and I think we can secure him to a new deal. With any luck, we can also keep Kane for at least 1 more year and give the new manager half a chance.

Disagree. We have Hugo who’s class as well. Son is a step or two below Kane and Hugo overall.

Anyone who thinks we should sell Son is a lunatic. We would be losing 20+ goals a season from our squad, the chances of us replacing those goals are virtually zero.

The problem is not that Son has a dry run occasionally, that happens to every player. The problem is that nobody else in our squad can score goals aside from him and Kane. The days when we had Dele and Eriksen scoring 10+ goals each in the PL are long gone.

We need more from the other attackers. Bergwijn hasn’t scored. Gio has just 1. Ndombele hasn’t scored for months. That’s a far bigger issue than Son.

Agree,

That why , like Mrs Perryman Mrs Perryman , I am concerned that an offer has been tabled now for months. It may well be that part of his dip in form is off field / contract related.

We don't have the luxury of losing a player like Son.

What if we have no transfer budget? Would you keep Som and start the season with Winks, Sissoko, Sanchez and Aurier? Hes the only player other than Kane that generates a fee to enable a rebuild

I would rather sell all those shit players and put trust in Rodon, Tanganga, Skipp, Sessegnon, White, Parrott etc to replace them than sell an amazing player like Son.

We should be able to generate enough money to sign players like Aarons, Andersen and Sabitzer just by selling our dead wood. Anyone expecting mega-signings is not living in the real world. Even if we did sell Son for a huge fee, other clubs would rinse us on the prices of their players and we’d probably just have more Ndombeles and Gios to add to our list of terrible value big money signings.

That’s fair - disagree on selling the squad players. Be lucky to muster up 20M IMO

If Son gets sold one thing is certain
Kane is the 1st best player lol

And you won't have to blame Son for the loss like in CL final because Son won't be there to get us to the final in the first place

Yep in line with what I wrote. Pretty much spot on.

Squad has collectively underperformed for months.

But in part that gives some cause for optimism if the next managerial appointment is right.

Who blamed Son for the CL final loss?
Nobody in the squad turned up for that game.

If I really had to pick one player, it would be Kane for that game. Everyone questioned Poch's decision to play him. He was obviously not ready after the long injury break.

And What makes you think we will be able to bring better players with the money? You need to realize we are not Real Madrid where every good player wants to go to.

I get that. So it’s winks and sissoko in CM? Who knows maybe they can find a way of complementing each other with a run of games

Im just saying it's not a good idea to sell our 2nd best player to replace these players, hoping for the best.

How did it work out when we sold Bale?
I don’t have any faith in our current structure to buy good players, so agree there but just saying if we have to sell players to upgrade other positions, I can see the logic. I won’t be watching spurs next season if Aurier, Sanchez, winks and Sissoko are starting - if it means we need to sell son to replace them, so be it

Trusting Lwvy to buy well is a different argument
